<p>It seems that <strong>Panasonic's</strong> (OTC: PCRFY) restructuring plan has not been successful.

According to <a href="http://news.cnet.com/8301-1001_3-57583850-92/panasonic-posts-hefty-2012-losses-amid-tv-sales-decline/">CNET</a>, the Japanese electronics giant posted another major loss. The company lost 754.3 billion Yen ($7.42 billion U.S.) during the fiscal 2012 sales period after sales declined seven percent to 7,846 billion Yen ($71.86 billion U.S.). </p>

<p>Once again, TV sales -- which fell 20 percent in 2012 -- proved to be a big part of the problem. This has created some concern that the company may close its TV unit, particularly after Panasonic President Kazuhiro Tsuga vowed to eliminate unprofitable businesses.</p>

<p>Thus far, Panasonic has reportedly reduced its plasma TV manufacturing efforts to <a href="http://www.benzinga.com/news/13/03/3429536/panasonic-finally-gives-up-on-this-dying-technology">less than one million units</a>. The company was expected compensate for this decline by producing more LCD displays, but that may have changed now that another annual loss has been reported.</p>

<p>There is also the chance that Panasonic may get out of the plasma TV business altogether. In March, rumors claimed that the ill-fated manufacturer would <a href="http://www.benzinga.com/news/13/03/3432137/panasonic-rumored-to-sell-local-asset-to-htc-or-tsmc">sell its plasma business</a> to HTC or <b>Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company</b> (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/tsm#NYSE">TSM</a>). It is not clear what either firm would do with plasma displays, which have been mostly replaced by cheaper and more efficient LCD and LED televisions.</p>

<p>Some have speculated that Panasonic could <a href="http://www.benzinga.com/news/13/03/3421228/will-4k-ultra-hd-televisions-save-sony-and-panasonic">ride the 4K gravy train</a> to success, but that train has yet to come into town. With prices ranging from $5,000 to $25,000, 4K Ultra HD displays are some of the most expensive TVs available. This could make it difficult for Panasonic to persuade consumers to upgrade.</p>

<p>Last year Panasonic joined forces with <strong>Sony</strong> (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/sne#NYSE">SNE</a>) to build <a href="http://www.benzinga.com/news/12/06/2693434/sony-panasonic-join-forces-for-oled-production">OLED displays</a>. By teaming up, the two tech titans hoped that they could reduce expenses and improve production of this newer technology. Little has come from this effort, so it might not be a huge deal for Panasonic to walk away. However, it could be a huge blow to Sony, which has been relying on Panasonic's assistance to build cheaper televisions.</p>

<p>Panasonic is not the only Japanese TV maker that has been encountering losses. While Sony may be able to use its PlayStation division (and other profitable units) to offset any and all TV loses in 2013, Panasonic relies heavily on TV sales. The same is true for <strong>Sharp</strong> (OTC: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/shcay#OTC">SHCAY</a>).</p>

<p>Sharp struck fear in investors when it warned that it <a href="http://www.benzinga.com/news/12/11/3048137/can-sharp-and-panasonic-last-another-year">may not survive</a>. Unlike Panasonic, which is somewhat diversified, the majority of Sharp's business comes from TV sales. The company also produces microwaves, calculators, fax machines, printers, solar panels, LED lighting systems and a <a href="http://sharp-world.com/products/smartphone/fx/index.html">very low-end smartphone</a>.</p>

<p>None of those items have been able to offset the decline of Sharp's TV business.</p>

Panasonic's TV Sales Fall 20 Percent

S&P Upgrades MetroPCS from B+ to BB; Outlook Lowered to Stable

<p>If <strong>Sony's</strong> (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/sne#NYSE">SNE</a>) oversized <a href="http://store.sony.com/c/All-In-One-Desktops/en/c/S_Desktops">all-in-one PC/tablet</a> combo was not big enough for consumers, <strong>Intel</strong> (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/intc#NASDAQ">INTC</a>) might have the perfect replacement.

According to <a href="http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20130422PD207.html">DigiTimes</a>, Intel has begun to push its so-called <a href="http://venturebeat.com/2012/09/11/intel-unveils-adaptive-all-in-one-computers-you-can-carry-around-the-home/">adaptive all-in-one PC</a> concept -- which provides a platform to build semi-portable desktop computers -- to manufacturers.</p>

<p>Sony was one of the first companies to experiment with this concept. The Japanese tech giant released a 20-inch, 11-pound Vaio machine last fall. Featuring Windows 8, a touch screen and a built-in battery, this all-in-one PC could be used with or without a power outlet.</p>

<p>When Intel announced the new platform last fall, the company seemed to be focused on building machines with displays that measured at least 20 inches diagonally. According to the DigiTimes report, Intel has "suggested" to manufacturers that they build machines between 18.4 and 27 inches.</p>

<p>The smallest size might seem ideal for business professionals who want a little more power (and a larger screen) than what is currently offered by an <strong>Apple</strong> (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/aapl#NASDAQ">AAPL</a>) iPad or an <strong>Amazon</strong> (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/amzn#NASDAQ">AMZN</a>) Kindle Fire. The largest size, however, is big enough to replace a small high-def television.</p>

<p>Given the added weight and expanded screen size, consumers might be wary about the portability of these devices.</p>

<p><strong>Panasonic</strong> (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/pc#NYSE">PC</a>) made some progress earlier this year when it unveiled the world's first <a href="http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2414097,00.asp">4K tablet</a>. The device, which was built to be a full Windows 8 Pro PC, comes with an 18-inch Ultra HD display. At 5.3 pounds, it is half as heavy as Sony's all-in-one desktop.</p>

<p>In addition to Sony and Panasonic, Lenovo and <strong>Dell</strong> (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/dell#NASDAQ">DELL</a>) are also in the process of building new <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/04/15/dell-xps-18-hybrid-preorder/">oversized tablets</a>.</p>

<p>This is not the first new PC concept that Intel has decided to support. Two years ago the company said that it would spend $300 million to create a <a href="http://www.benzinga.com/trading-ideas/long-ideas/11/08/1852079/intel-to-pay-300m-for-a-macbook-air-killer">MacBook Air competitor</a>. This led to the design of the Ultrabook concept, which provides manufacturers with smaller, lighter and more efficient processors, allowing them to build thinner and lighter notebooks.</p>

<p>Thus far, Ultrabooks have not become the sales-igniting, record-breaking format Intel had anticipated. However, they are still expected to account for <a href="http://www.benzinga.com/news/12/12/3164254/intel-ultrabooks-to-account-for-40-of-all-notebook-shipments-in-2013">40 percent of all notebook shipments</a> in 2013.</p>

<p>The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 0.04 percent to 14,572.85.</p>

<p>The S&amp;P 500 closed down 0.45 percent at 1,562.17.</p>

<p>The Nasdaq was also down 0.87 percent to 3,239.17.</p>

<p><b>Construction Spending</b></p>

<p>The U.S. Census Bureau of the Department of Commerce announced today that construction spending during February 2013 was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $885.1 billion, 1.2 percent above the revised January estimate of $874.8 billion.</p>

<p>The February figure is 7.9 percent above the February 2012 estimate of $820.7 billion. During the first 2 months of this year, construction spending amounted to $120.1 billion, 6.6 percent above the $112.6 billion for the same period in 2012.</p>

<p><b>ISM Manufacturing Index</b></p>

<p>In the Institute for Supply Management's Manufacturing survey released Monday morning, the manufacturing sector continued to grow in March, but at a slower pace than in February.</p>

<p>The headline printed 51.3, a decrease of 2.9 points from February's reading of 54.2 percent, indicating expansion in manufacturing for the fourth consecutive month, but at a slower rate. It has bounced around this level for the past year, indicating no clear trend.</p>

<p><b>China Manufacturing PMI</b></p>

<p>The HSBC China Manufacturing PMI fell to 51.6 in March from 51.7 in February on expectations of a flat reading at 51.7. The analysts at HSBC noted that operating conditions and production levels have now improved in China for five consecutive months and that total orders rose for the sixth consecutive month. </p>

<p>Markets did not react to the news positively overnight. Chinese shares fell slightly overnight by 0.1 percent, as measured by the Shanghai Composite Index, however shares traded as low as 0.42 percent following the data release. Top gaining sectors included pharmaceutical companies and retail companies with Information Technology and Industrial companies lagging.</p>

<p><b>Commodities</b></p>

<p>Gold rose 0.23 percent to close at 1,598.90 while crude oil dipped 0.25 percent to close at 97.40.</p>

<p><b>Currency</b></p>

<p>The PowerShares DB US Dollar Index (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/uup#NYSE">UUP</a>) closed down 0.35 percent at 22.52.</p>

<p>European shares were closed Monday for the Easter Monday holiday, so the EUR/USD pair last closed down 0.12 percent at 1.2804.</p>

<p><b>Stock Movers</b></p>

<p>The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/ndaq#Nasdaq">NDAQ</a>) today announced it has entered into an agreement with BGC Partners, Inc. (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/bgcp#NASDAQ">BGCP</a>) to acquire the eSpeed platform for a purchase price of $750 million in cash plus certain contingent issuances of stock that approximate certain tax benefits to NASDAQ OMX.</p>

<p>Shares of NDAQ closed down 0.90 percent after the news and closed at 32.01.</p>

<p>Tesla Motors (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/tsla#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) shot up early in the day and settled later on, remaining up 13.58 percent to $43.04 after the company said sales of its Model S cars exceeded its estimates.</p>

<p>Forrester Research (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/forr#NASDAQ">FORR</a>) was also up, gaining 9.35 percent to $34.61 after the company intends to commence tender offer to repurchase up to $130 million of its common stock.</p>

<p>VirnetX Holding (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/vhc#NYSE">VHC</a>) took a hit today, falling 8.92 percent to $17.46 as the volatile stock lived up to its reputation for wild swings.</p>

<p>Panasonic (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/pc#NYSE">PC</a>) was also down, falling 8.46 percent to $6.71 after the company announced delisting schedule from the NYSE.</p>

<p>For the upcoming year, Albemarle has <a href="https://investors.albemarle.com/news-and-events/news/news-details/2024/Albemarle-Outlines-Actions-to-Preserve-Growth-Reduce-Costs-and-Optimize-Cash-Flow/default.aspx">introduced proactive measures</a> to unlock more than $750 million in cash flow in the near term. These measures include optimizing its cost structure, which is expected to save approximately $95 million annually, and re-phasing its growth investments to improve financial flexibility.</p>



<p>ALB also anticipates significant growth in its Energy Storage segment, projecting net sales to range from $5.5 billion to $6.2 billion in scenarios of average lithium market prices of about $15 per kg LCE. Under higher price scenarios, these figures could increase to as much as $7.6 billion, with corresponding increases in adjusted EBITDA&#8203;.</p>



<p>With all of these factors considered, I believe that ALB could be one of those undervalued <a href="https://investorplace.com/industries/energy/renewable-energy/battery/lithium/">lithium stocks</a> for investors to buy.</p>



<h2>Arcadium Lithium (ALTM)</h2>

<p>Analysts anticipate ALTM to take time to fully realize the equity from its merger from the start of the year. Thus, projections for its EPS are modest but steady in the near-term.</p>



<p>ALTM&rsquo;s fundamentals are expected to reach an inflection point around FY2025. This is when a series of EPS increases are predicted, growing as much as 53.26% to 0.32. I think this makes ATLM undervalued relative to its EPS growth potential.</p>



<h2>Panasonic (PCRFY)</h2>

First, PCRFY stock has already been oversold and has mainly remained sideways in the last 12 months. <p>Apple ended Q2 2024 with <a href="https://www.apple.com/newsroom/pdfs/fy2024-q2/FY24_Q2_Consolidated_Financial_Statements.pdf">$161 billion in cash and equivalents</a>. This provides ample flexibility to invest in next-generation technology for its devices. Apple has already been <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/news/technology/apples-ai-push-gathers-steam-as-it-reportedly-acquires-france-based-startup-12696651.html">making small acquisitions</a> in the AI space. With BYD Company having a <a href="https://autovista24.autovistagroup.com/news/byd-took-control-of-the-2023-chinese-ev-market/">market share</a> of 35.5% in China, the growth outlook remains positive.</p>



<p>It&rsquo;s also worth noting that BYD is working on boosting presence in markets like Brazil, Indonesia, and India. In Brazil, the Company is constructing a new manufacturing facility with an <a href="https://www.digitimes.com/news/a20240322PD203/brazil-byd-china-ev.html">annual production capacity</a> of 150,000 units. These potentially high-growth markets will ensure that BYD continues to remain among the top two EV players globally.</p>



<h2>Li Auto (LI)</h2>

The reason is relatively disappointing numbers for Q1 2024. I see this as a golden buying opportunity with LI stock trading at a forward price-earnings ratio of 17.5.</p>



<p>I like the fact that Li Auto has exclusive focus on Chinese markets. The Company is boosting its retail presence and EV charging network within the country. The results have been exceptional when we compare deliveries growth and vehicle margin with the likes of <strong>Nio</strong> (NYSE:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/nio-stock-quote/"><strong>NIO</strong></a></span>) and <strong>XPeng</strong> (NYSE:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/xpev-stock-quote/"><strong>XPEV</strong></a></span>).</p>



<p>Concentrated presence has ensured that the Company is able to curb cost. Further, the balance sheet is string with a <a href="https://ir.lixiang.com/news-releases/news-release-details/li-auto-inc-announces-unaudited-first-quarter-2024-financial">robust cash buffer</a> of $13.7 billion as of Q1 2024. With the recent launch of Li MEGA and Li L6, it&rsquo;s likely that deliveries growth will be strong.</p>



<p>It&rsquo;s also worth noting that Li Auto is working on next-generation EV technology and smart vehicle solutions. In the coming years, it&rsquo;s enhanced features within the EV that will be the differentiating factor. Focus on technology is likely to ensure that Li Auto remains ahead of the curve.</p>



<h2>Panasonic Holdings (PCRFY)</h2>

<p>The reason is that PCRFY stock is already oversold. A forward price-earnings ratio of 8.5 underscores my view. It&rsquo;s therefore a good time to accumulate before this innovation driven EV battery manufacturer stock surges higher.</p>



<p>It&rsquo;s worth noting that Panasonic has aggressive expansion plans. The Company intends to <a href="https://asia.nikkei.com/Spotlight/The-Big-Story/Panasonic-leads-Japan-s-EV-battery-comeback-plan-with-U.S.-push">quadruple its EV battery capacity</a> to 200GWh by 2031. I must agree that expansion plans for the foreseeable future have been scaled down. However, once growth accelerates, Panasonic has ample flexibility to aggressively invest. This provides revenue growth visibility coupled with potential EBITDA margin expansion in the coming years.</p>



<p>On the innovation front, Panasonic is targeting to <a href="https://na.panasonic.com/us/news/panasonic-energy-partners-sila-procurement-next-generation-silicon-anode-material-ev-batteries">boost battery energy density</a> by 25% from current levels. To achieve this, the Company is looking at nano-composite silicon anode material for EV lithium-ion batteries. Focus on innovation will ensure that Panasonic maintains its market share.</p>



<h2>Lithium Americas (LAC)</h2>

Considering the <a href="https://www.icwa.in/show_content.php?lang=1&amp;level=1&amp;ls_id=10457&amp;lid=6669">impending lithium supply-gap</a>, it&rsquo;s likely that the metal will trend higher in the coming years.</p>



<p><strong>Lithium Americas</strong> (NYSE:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/lac-stock-quote/"><strong>LAC</strong></a></span>) is possibly the best name to consider among lithium stocks. Even with multiple positive business developments, LAC stock has remained depressed. I would not be surprised with a big breakout rally once lithium trends higher.</p>



<p>As an overview, the Company has ownership of the Thacker Pass project. The asset has an <a href="https://lithiumamericas.com/files/doc_presentation/2024/05/LAC-Corporate-Presentation.pdf">after-tax net present value</a> of $5.7 billion with a mine life of 40 years. Further, the Company has guided for annual EBITDA of $2 billion from the asset once both phases commence production.</p>



<p>With the financing backing from <strong>General Motors</strong> (NYSE:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/gm-stock-quote/"><strong>GM</strong></a></span>) and the U.S. Department of Energy, the Company is working on the construction phase. The <a href="https://lithiumamericas.com/news/news-details/2024/Lithium-Americas-Closes-US275-Million-Underwritten-Public-Offering/default.aspx">recent fund raising</a> of $275 million through equity offering has also ensured that the project financing gap is closed.</p>



<h2>Blink Charging (BLNK)</h2>

I see this as a good time to accumulate this EV charging infrastructure stock with positive business developments on the cards.</p>



<p>For Q1 2024, Blink Charging reported <a href="https://d1io3yog0oux5.cloudfront.net/_8d468f3f056720e4258ab6c945ef7509/blinkcharging/news/2024-05-09_BLINK_CHARGING_ANNOUNCES_FIRST_QUARTER_REVENUE_2508.pdf">stellar revenue growth</a> of 73% on a year-on-year basis to $37.6 million. For the same period, gross margin increased by 195% to $13.4 million.</p>



<p>An important point to note is that Blink has guided for full year gross margin of 33%. Additionally, the Company has reiterated its guidance for <a href="https://d1io3yog0oux5.cloudfront.net/_8d468f3f056720e4258ab6c945ef7509/blinkcharging/db/86/1646/presentation/BLNK+1Q24+Earnings+Presentation+5.9.24f.pdf">achieving positive adjusted EBITDA</a> by the end of 2024. If this target is achieved, I expect BLNK stock to surge.</p>



<p>I must add here that between Q1 2021 and Q1 2024, service revenue has increased at a CAGR of 189%. As more EV charging stations are installed, I expect healthy growth in service revenue to swell. This will support EBITDA margin expansion beyond 2024. Therefore, business metrics are encouraging in terms of top-line growth and profitability.</p>



<h2>Solid Power (SLDP)</h2>

This includes <strong>Ford</strong> (NYSE:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/f-stock-quote/"><strong>F</strong></a></span>), <strong>BMW</strong> (OTCMKTS:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/bmwyy-stock-quote/"><strong>BMWYY</strong></a></span>), and SK On. As a matter of fact, the Company has licensed its cell design and technology to BMW and SK On for parallel research and development. This is likely to support an accelerated move towards commercialization.</p>



<p>Last year, Solid Power had delivered A-1 sample cells to automotive partners for validation testing. The Company is targeting to <a href="https://www.solidpowerbattery.com/investor-relations/investor-news/news-details/2024/Solid-Power-First-Quarter-2024-Results-Reflect-Continued-Progress-Towards-2024-Goals/default.aspx">advance its cell design and deliver</a> A-2 sample cells to automotive players in 2024. At the same time, the Company has expanded its electrolyte sampling with shipments to multiple potential customers. The progress has therefore been positive and with a healthy cash buffer, investment in R&amp;D will continue.</p>

The company&rsquo;s profit margin stands at a modest 4.02%, and its operating margin is -10.6%. Return on assets is -2.68%, while return on equity is 3.86%.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Albemarle has a dividend yield of 1.39%. However, Albemarle&rsquo;s <a href="https://s201.q4cdn.com/960975307/files/doc_earnings/2024/q1/earnings-result/Q12024_pressrelease.pdf">quarterly earnings and revenue growth have declined</a> substantially.&nbsp;Revenue is down 47.3% and net income is down by 99.8%.</p>



<p>However, these teething issues are usual for cyclical companies like ALB which are still scaling their production. I also think that its shares could be entering into a buying zone based on a recent development.</p>



<p>ALB faced a <a href="https://www.morningstar.com/stocks/albemarle-stock-plunges-18-big-share-issuance-is-it-buy">steep stock drop after announcing</a> a $2.3 billion convertible preferred stock issuance in March, surprising investors. This news sent shares down by nearly 18%, before a partial rebound. Its shares are now down 47.53% over the past year.</p>



<p>As ALB looks to head towards a bottom, its risk-to-reward profile improves if one is bullish on the battery industry as a whole, making it one of those best battery stocks to buy.</p>



<h2>Panasonic (PCRY)</h2>

This move would effectively quadruple the company&rsquo;s current battery production. In addition, Panasonic is also exploring innovative battery solutions, such as cobalt-free options and cells with an impressive energy density of 1,000 Wh/l.</p>



<p>Given these developments, there is a strong case to be made that Panasonic&rsquo;s stock is currently trading at <a href="https://stockanalysis.com/stocks/pcrfy/statistics/" target="_blank">undervalued levels</a>.</p>

When comparing the first quarter of 2024 to the same time in 2023, EV sales increased by almost 25%, illustrating sound progress toward this goal.</p>



<p>By 2024, EV sales are expected to account <a href="https://www.iea.org/reports/global-ev-outlook-2024/trends-in-electric-cars">for more than 11%</a> of new vehicle sales in the U.S., but China remains the biggest market, accounting for around 60% of all EV sales worldwide.</p>



<p>In dollar terms, estimates peg the industry <a href="https://www.statista.com/outlook/mmo/electric-vehicles/worldwide">value at $623.3 billion</a>, with forecasts for it to grow to $906.7 billion by 2028. Additionally, the network throughput increased by 194% from the previous year to a record 53 gigawatt-hours (GWh), and EVgo installed 250 additional operating slots.</p>



<p>In the first quarter of 2024, the EVGO network was used about 19% of the time, up from 9% during the same time last year; the upside on EVGO stock is phenomenal at 106%, making it one of the top overlooked EV stocks.</p>



<p>With the help of key site host partners, EVgo found more than 100,000 possible charging stations and is now focusing on putting more fast charging stations in places that are easy for cars to access.</p>



<p>In addition, drivers who buy or lease a new 2024 bZ4X will get a year of free, fast charging as part of EVgo&rsquo;s <a href="https://investors.evgo.com/news/news-details/2024/EVgo-and-Toyota-Extend-Agreement-to-Provide-One-Year-of-Complimentary-Fast-Charging-to-2024-bZ4X-Customers/default.aspx">expanded partnership</a> with <strong>Toyota</strong> (NYSE:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/tm-stock-quote/"><strong>TM</strong></a></span>).</p>



<p>Furthermore, EVgo said that later in 2024 it will <a href="https://www.evgo.com/press-release/evgo-doubles-down-on-commitment-to-begin-nacs-deployments-in-2024/">start adding NACS connections</a> to its fast-charge network.</p>



<h2>Panasonic (PCRFY)</h2>

<p>In addition, Panasonic <a href="https://www.kansascommerce.gov/2022/07/kansas-lands-4b-4000-job-panasonic-energy-electric-vehicle-battery-plant/">is investing $4 billion</a> in De Soto, Kansas, to construct the world&rsquo;s largest EV battery facility, which will create jobs for 4,000 people and provide <strong>Tesla</strong> (NASDAQ:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/tsla-stock-quote/"><strong>TSLA</strong></a>) with high-capacity lithium-ion batteries.</p>



<p>Panasonic Energy batteries will be <a href="https://news.panasonic.com/global/press/en240520-2">used in the upcoming</a> <strong>Tern</strong> zero-emission automobiles. This is their first industrial car. In collaboration with <strong>Hexagon Purus</strong> (OTCMKTS:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/hpurf-stock-quote/"><strong>HPURF</strong></a></span>) and <strong>Hino Motors</strong> (OTCMKTS:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/hinoy-stock-quote/"><strong>HINOY</strong></a></span>), this project produces batteries for the U.S. market for the RC8, a battery-electric Class 8 tractor.</p>



<p>Moreover, Panasonic plans to double its production of batteries for electric vehicles by 2030 <a href="https://holdings.panasonic/global/corporate/panasonic-green-impact/challenge.html">as part of the Green IMPACT initiative</a>; Panasonic hopes to reach net-zero emissions and eliminate 300 million tons of CO2 emissions by 2050.</p>



<p>Another step in the right direction is that Panasonic and <strong>Novonix</strong> (OTCMKTS:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/nvnfx-stock-quote/"><strong>NVNFX</strong></a></span>) <a href="https://na.panasonic.com/us/news/panasonic-energy-partners-novonix-sustainable-synthetic-graphite-supply-ev-battery-production">have teamed to acquire</a> synthetic graphite for EV batteries.<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/-stock-quote/"></a></span> Panasonic intends to use this agreement to improve its supply chain and cut its carbon footprint from 2022 levels by 50% by 2031.</p>



<p>Aside from its EV intentions, investors can take solace in Panasonic&rsquo;s revenue diversity since it can keep investing in EVs while having diversification buffer its performance; analysts are predicting an upside of 48.5%.</p>

<p>The battery maker has already achieved several important technical <a href="https://www.volkswagen-group.com/en/press-releases/powerco-confirms-results-quantumscapes-solid-state-cell-passes-first-endurance-test-18031/download?disposition=attachment">milestones</a>, such as proving their material&rsquo;s ability to withstand more than 1,000 charge-discharge cycles, maintaining more than 95 percent of its initial capacity.&nbsp;</p>



<p>An EV charged with QuantumScape&rsquo;s batteries could drive 500,000 kilometers before the range started to degrade noticeably. Also, the <a href="https://ir.quantumscape.com/resources/press-releases/news-details/2024/QuantumScape-Begins-Customer-Shipments-of-Alpha-2-Prototypes-a-Key-Goal-for-2024/default.aspx">company</a> achieved its primary 2024 goal early, having begun customer shipments of the Alpha-2 prototype cells.&nbsp;</p>



<p>I think that QS is one of those solid-state battery stocks investors should have on their radar. Given its disruptive potential as well as the promising technical milestones achieved, QuantumScape could potentially become a multi-bagger if the pieces fall into place.</p>



<h2>Solid Power (SLDP)</h2>

Due to its three well-placed partners <strong>BMW</strong> (OTCMKTS:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/bmwyy-stock-quote/"><strong>BMWYY</strong></a></span>), <strong>Ford </strong>(NYSE:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/f-stock-quote/"><strong>F</strong></a>) and <strong>SK On</strong>, Solid Power is well-positioned and supported to take their technology to the market. BMW has tested Solid Power&rsquo;s Sample A-2 silicon-anode batteries and intends to <a href="https://www.electrive.com/2023/11/09/bmw-receives-first-solid-state-cells-from-solid-power/">produce</a> a demo car with the technology in the future.</p>



<p>From a financial perspective, Solid Power is also in good <a href="https://finance.yahoo.com/news/solid-power-inc-sldp-q1-215352497.html">shape</a>. It has $146 million in cash and $232 million in long-term investments, which will be enough to support operations till 2026. The company expects to have a lower cash burn rate in the future as it reaches certain development markers with its partners.</p>



<p>SLDP&rsquo;s risk profile is slightly lower than many other solid-state battery stocks in my opinion given the liquidity on its balance sheet and its existing partnerships.</p>



<h2>Toyota (TM)</h2>

The Japanese automaker is one of the key players and plans to start the mass production of the <a href="https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/toyota-roll-out-solid-state-battery-evs-couple-years-india-executive-says-2024-01-11/">batteries</a> for their EVs by 2027 at the earliest.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Toyota&rsquo;s executives say the new touch-and-go batteries offer a 750-mile range per charge while only taking 10 minutes to charge. This would solve some EV buyer <a href="https://technode.com/2024/04/16/chinas-gac-declares-a-breakthrough-in-all-solid-state-battery-development/">concerns</a> such as range and charging time. Toyota plans to work with <strong>Idemitsu Kosan </strong>(OTCMKTS:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/idkoy-stock-quote/"><strong>IDKOY</strong></a></span>) to manufacture the solid-state batteries.</p>



<p>It remains unclear when solid-state batteries will become commercially available on a larger scale. Toyota&rsquo;s current technological advancement and collaborations, however. position the company to seize the opportunity of this future-generation battery technology. As the world&rsquo;s biggest automaker, Toyota can promote solid-state batteries as one of the most competitive solutions for EVs today.</p>



<h2>Panasonic (PCRFY)</h2>

Yet it isn&rsquo;t <a href="https://cleantechnica.com/2023/09/15/panasonic-eyes-solid-state-batteries-but-not-for-evs-yet/">currently</a> focusing EV solid-state batteries. Instead, the company plans to bring the technology to the market for <a href="https://asia.nikkei.com/Business/Technology/Panasonic-to-produce-solid-state-battery-for-drones-by-2029">drones</a> and industrial robots by 2029. This could be significant.&nbsp;</p>



<p>It is claimed the company has solved a major drawback of solid-state batteries, which is their limited usage life. Panasonic&rsquo;s new batteries are solid-state and they can handle many thousands of charging and discharging cycles.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Indeed, Panasonic may not be able to enter the EV market with solid-state batteries as early as Toyota. However, Panasonic&rsquo;s technological developments and production experience put the company in a good place to leverage the transition to solid-state batteries as the battery technology of choice across numerous industries. It makes Panasonic one of those solid-state battery stocks to buy.</p>



<h2>Albemarle (ALB)</h2>

<p>The company foresees a 2.5x increase in lithium <a href="https://investors.albemarle.com/financials/quarterly-results/default.aspx">demand</a> from 2024 to 2030. That will require significant new lithium production capacity. That is a key reason it is still one of the top solid-state battery stocks to consider.</p>



<p>But there&rsquo;s more to be bullish about when it comes to ALB. The miner has strong lithium reserves, a fortress-like <a href="https://stockanalysis.com/stocks/alb/statistics/">balance sheet</a> and debt that is declining. It is therefore well positioned to manage near-term lithium price risks. Additionally, Albemarle is a prominent global lithium producer that can create alliances with new solid-state battery developers. It guarantees control of the crucial lithium supply when the new generation of this technology picks up momentum.&nbsp;</p>



<h2>Arcadium Lithium (ALTM)</h2>

I think Arcadium is in a good position to meet the need for raw materials for solid-state batteries.</p>



<p>Arcadium owns 100% of <a href="https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/arcadium-lithium-releases-first-quarter-2024-results-302138760.html">lithium projects located</a> in Argentina, including the Fenix, Olaroz, Sal De Vida and Cauchari projects. It also owns a lithium hydroxide facility in Bessemer City. Moreover, it has joint ventures in China, Japan and Canada. This gives it diversification in geography and proximity to low-cost production sources. That makes Arcadium a suitable partner for lithium for carmakers and battery producers as they scale up the production of solid-state batteries.</p>



<p>After recently completing its merger, ALTM could be on its way to realizing synergies and extracting the most value from its asset base. It means it could also potentially be undervalued at under $4 per share.</p>



<h2>Nissan (NSANY)</h2>
