WK Kellogg is the second-largest cereal manufacturer in North America. NASA said on Tuesday that it intends to return astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore, who went to the space station on Boeing Co&#8216;s (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BA#NYSE">BA</a>) Starliner spacecraft in June, earlier than expected.
What Happened: The space agency said that it is now targeting Wednesday, March 12 for the launch of its Crew-10 mission to the space station. 
Following a few days&#8217; handover period where crew-9 astronauts will familiarize the newly arrived crew-10 with ongoing science and station maintenance work, crew-9 will return to Earth with NASA astronauts Nick Hague, Suni Williams, and Butch Wilmore, along with Roscosmos cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov aboard SpaceX&#8217;s Dragon spacecraft. 
The return of crew-9, however, will also rely on weather conditions at the dragon spacecraft&#8217;s splashdown site off the coast of Florida, NASA said. 
Starliner Issues Prolong Return: Williams and Wilmore launched to the International Space Station aboard Starliner&nbsp;spacecraft in June and were supposed to return in about eight days.
However, technical issues identified with the spacecraft while docking delayed a return, and the space agency subsequently decided to scrap bringing back the two astronauts on the Starliner spacecraft.
The Starliner subsequently<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/09/40758526/boeing-starliner-returns-to-earth-without-sunita-williams-and-butch-wilmore-lands-in-new-mexico-afte" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">&nbsp;returned without the astronauts on Sept. 6</a>. The two astronauts, NASA then said, will return with Crew 9 members&nbsp;Nick Hague&nbsp;and&nbsp;Aleksandr Gorbunov&nbsp;<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/09/40850262/nasa-delays-crew-9-mission-yet-again-this-time-to-complete-prelaunch-preparations" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">when they return home</a> aboard a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft.
The two astronauts have been up at the station for over eight months now.
Why It Matters: Crew-10 was previously slated to launch <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/24/12/42571318/return-of-astronauts-sunita-williams-and-butch-wilmore-from-iss-further-delayed-now-expected-no-earlier-than-late-march">by late March</a> and the return of crew-9 was expected a few days after. However, the agency has now decided to rely on a Dragon spacecraft which was used previously instead of using a new one which would take additional processing time. 
"Human spaceflight is full of unexpected challenges. Our operational flexibility is enabled by the tremendous partnership between NASA and SpaceX and the agility SpaceX continues to demonstrate to safely meet the agency's emerging needs," said Steve Stich, manager, of NASA's Commercial Crew Program.
SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk said last month that President Trump has asked SpaceX to return the two astronauts stranded at the space station &#8220;as soon as possible.&#8221;
Musk, a close ally to Trump, also accused the Biden administration of leaving the astronauts on the space station &#8220;so long.&#8221;

NASA Alters Timelines To Expedite Return Of Astronauts Sunita Williams, Butch Wilmore Stranded At Space Station For Over 8 Months

Lithia Motors (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/LAD#NYSE">LAD</a>) reported quarterly adjusted earnings of $7.79 per share which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $7.24 by 7.6 percent. &#8220;Bonvoy member penetration of room nights achieved historic highs in the fourth quarter at 73% in the U.S. and 66% globally,&#8221; said CEO Anthony Capuano.
Marriott Bonvoy is a free loyalty program where guests earn and redeem points for stays at Marriott hotels, including brands like Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, JW Marriott, Sheraton, Westin, and Renaissance.
Capuano added, &#8220;Our digital channels and mobile in particular remain key drivers of direct bookings at a lower cost to our owners.
&#8220;We're excited about enhancing the customer experience across all of our digital channels through the multi-year digital transformation we have underway.&#8221; Capuano hinted that the company expects to roll out the transformation strategies &#8220;a little later this year.&#8221;
The company&#8217;s focus on digital extends beyond just its own platforms. Marriott has forged strategic partnerships in its &#8220;co-brand credit cards&#8221; with companies like Uber Technologies Inc. The CNN Money Fear and Greed index showed almost no change in the overall market sentiment, with the index remaining in the &#8220;Neutral&#8221; zone on Tuesday.
U.S. stocks settled mixed on Tuesday, as investors digested comments from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell. The Fed chief reiterated that the central bank is in no hurry to cut interest rates during his testimony before the Senate Banking Committee, offering little support for risk assets.
Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) fell by over 4%, reaching the lowest levels in eleven weeks, pressured by weak January auto sales in China. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AAPL#NASDAQ">AAPL</a>) and Alibaba Group Holding Limited (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BABA#NYSE">BABA</a>) shares settled higher on Tuesday following a report from The Information indicating the companies partnered to develop AI features for iPhone user in China.
On the economic data front, the NFIB Small Business Optimism Index declined to 102.8 in January compared to 105.1 in the previous month, and down from estimates of 104.6.
Most sectors on the S&amp;P 500 closed on a positive note, with consumer staples, energy and real estate stocks recording gains on Tuesday. However, consumer discretionary and health care stocks bucked the overall market trend, closing the session lower.
The Dow Jones closed higher by around 123 points to 44,593.65 on Tuesday. The S&amp;P 500 rose 0.03% to 6,068.50, while the Nasdaq Composite fell 0.36% at 19,643.86 during Tuesday's session.
Investors are awaiting earnings results from CVS Health Corporation (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/CVS#NYSE">CVS</a>), The Kraft Heinz Company (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/KHC#NASDAQ">KHC</a>) and Cisco Systems, Inc. FuriosaAI specializes in developing accelerators that optimize AI applications and has created its own AI chip, Warboy in 2021, after which it launched the advanced accelerator chip RNGD in August.
"RNGD will be an ideal choice for the large-scale deployment of advanced generative AI models such as Meta&#8217;s Llama 2 and Llama 3," stated FuriosaAI.
CEO Paik has previously highlighted the need for an alternative semiconductor ecosystem, citing the high cost and limited supply of Nvidia&#8217;s AI accelerators. FuriosaAI&#8217;s models reportedly offer a more cost-effective solution, with system chip construction costs amounting to about half of Nvidia&#8217;s.
