Tesla Inc.&#8217;s (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) robotaxi to be unveiled on Thursday is expected to have two front seats and doors that open upward like butterfly wings, Bloomberg <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-10-09/elon-musk-readies-the-robotaxi-he-is-betting-tesla-s-future-on">reported</a> on Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.
Updates To Watch For: In addition to unveiling the robotaxi, Tesla CEO Elon Musk will also talk about the company&#8217;s intent to develop its full self-driving driver assistance software for its Semi truck at the event, Bloomberg said, citing sources. However, there will not be a demonstration of the Semi with FSD on Thursday, the report added.
Tesla deployed FSD on its Cybertruck &#8211; its latest vehicle offering &#8211; last month. Currently, all Tesla vehicles in production have the technology deployed. The Tesla Semi is only in pilot production.
Event Location And Schedule: The robotaxi unveiling event titled &#8220;We, Robot&#8221; will start at 7 p.m. California time at Warner Bros. Discovery Inc.'s movie studio near Los Angeles.&nbsp;The event will also be streamed live on social media platform X. 
Other Speculations: The robotaxi unveiling event was initially slated for Aug. 8. The company delayed it to Oct. 10 to make a few important changes aimed at improving the robotaxi and to give itself time to prepare a &#8220;couple of other things&#8221; to showcase at the event, Musk&nbsp;said in July.
Deepwater Asset Management's Managing Partner&nbsp;Gene Munster previously said that he<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/analyst-color/24/10/41181089/tesla-robotaxi-event-might-have-3-product-announcements-but-will-likely-be-light-on"> expects three vehicles </a>to be announced at the event including a cheaper vehicle model priced around $25,000, a robotaxi, and a robovan. 
Available Details On Robotaxi: During Tesla's first-quarter earnings call, Musk casually referred to the company&#8217;s dedicated robotaxi product as the &#8220;Cybercab.&#8221; It is unclear if this is a placeholder or the final name. 
According to Musk&#8217;s biography by Walter Isaacson published last year, the robotaxi will have <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/23/09/34387517/elon-musk-says-teslas-robotaxi-will-look-like-the-future-remains-mum-on-25k-model-2">no steering wheel or pedals</a> as Musk was resolute that the company would not build an &#8216;amphibian frog&#8217; design that will have removable pedals or wheels.

Tesla's Robotaxi To Take Flight With Doors That Open Like Butterfly Wings: Report

Following the success of &#8220;Oppenheimer,&#8221; renowned director&nbsp;Christopher Nolan&nbsp;has reportedly joined forces with actor&nbsp;Matt Damon&nbsp;for a new IMAX Corp (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/IMAX#NYSE">IMAX</a>) film. 
What Happened: Nolan, who bagged an Oscar for &#8220;Oppenheimer,&#8221; is returning to Universal Pictures, which is owned by the&nbsp;Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/CMCSA#NASDAQ">CMCSA</a>) for his upcoming project, <a href="https://deadline.com/2024/10/christopher-nolan-new-movie-matt-damon-release-date-1236099940/">reported</a> Deadline, citing sources.
The film is set for an IMAX&nbsp;release on July 17, 2026,&nbsp;and shooting could start in early 2025.

This will be the third collaboration between Damon and Nolan, following &#8220;Interstellar&#8221; and &#8220;Oppenheimer.&#8221;
Nolan is known for his tendency to reteam with actors, and Damon joins Christian Bale and Cillian Murphy in the list of actors who&nbsp;have worked with Nolan on&nbsp;multiple occasions.
With the project now officially underway, it is expected to attract a host of A-list talent to join Damon in the ensemble cast, the report noted.
Why It Matters: Nolan&#8217;s decision to continue with Universal is not surprising, considering the success of &#8220;Oppenheimer.&#8221;

The company reportedly revenue growth reaching $30.12 billion, surpassing the expected $29.69 billion at the time.
Peacock, a streaming service owned by NBCUniversal, a subsidiary of Comcast, reported an almost 80% year-over-year increase, reaching 28 million. The platform&#8217;s revenue surged by 64%, hitting $830 million during the same time.
Similarly, <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/23/10/35416714/imax-q3-earnings-smashes-estimates-on-box-office-strength">IMAX&#8217;s third-quarter earning</a> in financial year 2023 was also driven by the success of Oppenheimer.
At the time, IMAX reported a 51% year-over-year increase in sales, reaching $103.90 million, surpassing the analyst consensus of $100.72 million.
The movie company also noted that the third quarter was its second-highest-grossing quarter ever at the IMAX global box office.

The company is due to report its third-quarter results before the market opens on Friday, with analysts&#8217; modeling earnings per share of $4.01, down from $4.33 reported for the year-ago quarter. Analysts, on average, expect 5% year-over-year revenue growth to $41.65 billion.
