A U.S. official confirmed to ABC News Israeli missiles have hit a site in Iran.
The official could not confirm whether Syria and Iraq sites were hit as well.
An explosion was heard in the city of Qahjavaristan, Isfahan, according to Iranian Media.
They also report that there has been a suspension of flights to Tehran, Isfahan and Shiraz.
Iran launched hundreds of missiles and drones into Israel last weekend. Israeli officials said the country's Iron Dome defense system endured a big test from Iran's attack on Saturday, intercepting 99% of the 300 "threats of various types" thrown at it.
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, according to Israel Defense Forces spokesperson Daniel Hagari, launched 170 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), more than 120 ballistic missiles and more than 30 cruise missiles in the attack.
Hagari said "99% of the threats launched towards Israeli territory were intercepted -- a very significant strategic achievement."
Hagari said the attack resulted in only one known Israeli casualty, a 7-year-old girl who was severely injured when she was struck by shrapnel apparently from an intercepted missile.

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear (D) unveiled plans on Thursday to utilize a lottery system for granting initial licenses to businesses vying for entry into the state&#8217;s medical marijuana industry.
Speaking at a press conference, Beshear called the lottery approach a fair way to give all qualifying applicants an equal opportunity to receive a license for the program, which is expected to launch in January 2025.
Set for this coming October, the lottery should remove any temptation to lobby to "get a leg up in different ways that we don't want to see," Beshear said at his weekly press conference, <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/Business/wireStory/kentucky-governor-announces-lottery-award-initial-round-medical-109402560">reported</a> ABC News.
"It reduces or eliminates litigation, and it creates a more fair process, not one where people bid against each other and only then the big companies can be a part of it," Beshear said. "But one that provides at least a chance for everyone who can meet the criteria."
Kentucky will initially issue 48 medical marijuana dispensary licenses, divided among 11 regions around the state as a way of ensuring the shortest possible drive times for Kentuckians with qualifying health conditions, said Sam Flynn, executive director of the medical cannabis program.
Each region will be allocated at least four dispensary licenses. Counties will be limited to one dispensary each except for those that include Louisville and Lexington, which can have two licenses, Flynn said. Limited numbers of cultivator and processor licenses will also be issued.
Beshear said capping the number of licenses is meant to avoid flooding the market with products and exceeding demand, which would ultimately hurt businesses and patients.
"You can see this is not about having a dispensary on every corner," Beshear said. "It is a limited program that we can monitor and fulfill the promise we made of doing this safely, but also having access in each region for people that do qualify."
The program can be expanded with more businesses in the future depending on demand and whether more qualifying medical conditions are added, which Beshear <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cannabis/24/01/36508539/kentucky-gov-beshear-wants-to-add-glaucoma-aids-and-13-more-conditions-to-medical-marijuana-prog">has promoted</a>.
"This is likely the minimum that you will see on the program moving forward. But again, you can always scale up. Scaling back hurts businesses, hurts people and hurts access," Beshear said. &#8220;We don't start huge. We start with a manageable program that, yes, can grow."

In response to the appearance of pro-Nazi content on Elon Musk&#8217;s social media platform, X, South Korea&#8217;s leading automaker&nbsp;Hyundai has decided to halt its advertising. This decision comes after a sponsored post from Hyundai was found next to anti-Semitic and pro-Nazi posts.
What Happened: The automaker confirmed that it had paused its advertising on X. The company also stated that it was addressing its concerns about brand safety with Musk&#8217;s company, <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/tech-news/hyundai-pauses-x-ads-nazi-content-platform-rcna148414">reported</a> NBC News.
"We have paused our ads on X and are speaking to X directly about brand safety to ensure this issue is addressed," Hyundai said in the statement.&nbsp;
A freelance journalist and X user, Nancy Levine Stearns, recently posted a screenshot of a Hyundai ad running on an X account that frequently posts Holocaust denial and anti-Semitism. The account in question has been suspended by X for violating its policy against abusive profiles.

Market Value and Acreage: The value of open hemp production rose to $291 million, an 18% increase from the previous year, with a stable cultivation area of around 27,000 acres nationwide. The report highlighted that the unprotected segment of the hemp market (areas not covered by specific hemp programs) reached a production value of $258 million.
Yield Improvements: Interviews with farmers revealed that increased market value is partly due to improved yields in various hemp categories, including grain, fiber and floral hemp. The report, now in its third consecutive year, aims to standardize agricultural research and focuses on CBD and non-intoxicating cannabis crops, designated as &#8220;specialty crops&#8221; since the 2018 Farm Bill.

Prices: For various categories of industrial floral hemp prices were recorded as follows:

What Happened: A lengthy process that saw <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/social-media/24/04/38282616/trump-trial-gets-7-jurors-11-to-go-their-old-social-media-posts-take-center-stage-in-court-e">hundreds of potential jurors</a> asked about their necessity to be impartial in the trial against Trump is one step closer to the trial beginning.
On Thursday, jurors seated for the hush money case now stands at 12, the total needed for the verdict, as <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/live-blog/trump-hush-money-trial-day-3-live-updates-rcna145936">shared </a>by NBC News.
Making up the jury are seven men and five women. Here are the jurors and their professions, as <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/meet-the-first-7-jury-members-as-trumps-hush-money-trial-progresses-rcna148198">reported </a>by NBC News.

"We have our jury," Judge Juan Merchan said after a 12th juror was agreed upon by the prosecution and defense.
Merchan gave instructions to the jurors Thursday before they left, reminding them that they cannot discuss the case. The judge reminded the jurors that they are expected to view the case with a "fair and impartial manner."
Getting to 12 jurors Thursday could come as a surprise after the way the court day began. After reaching seven jurors Tuesday before adjourning the trial until Thursday, two of the jurors were removed early Thursday.
One juror was dismissed after a prior arrest was brought into question.
Juror 2, an oncology nurse, was excused earlier in the day after saying that after sleeping on the case, she worried she could no longer be impartial. She also was concerned about her identity becoming public with family already asking if she was on the jury.
The jury selection process has also seen large numbers of potential jurors dismissed after saying they can't be impartial in the case. When Merchan asked a pool of 96 potential jurors to raise their hand if they can't be impartial in the case, 48 were immediately dismissed.

What's Next: Six additional jurors are still needed, who will serve as alternates.
The plan, as of now, is for the trial to begin Monday. This could happen if the alternates are selected on Friday. "I'm hopeful we will finish tomorrow," Merchan said.
Trump's hush money criminal trial is expected to last six to eight weeks.
Speaking to reporters after the case wrapped Thursday, Trump said he should have been campaigning in key states for the 2024 election.
"I've been here all day," Trump said.
Trump called the case an "unfair trial."
"The whole thing is a mess."
DJT Price Action: Shares of Trump Media &amp; Technology Group Corp (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/DJT#NASDAQ">DJT</a>) have been volatile during Trump's legal proceedings.
Shares spiked Thursday, but it was likely unrelated to the case. The<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/24/04/38319481/why-trump-media-technology-group-shares-are-gaining-thursday"> shares traded higher </a>after a filing from the company explained to shareholders how to keep the shares they own from being loaned out for short selling.
DJT shares closed Thursday up 25.72% to $33.19 versus a 52-week trading range of $22.55 to $79.38.

Trump Hush Money Trial Has 12 Jurors: Here Are The 7 Men, 5 Women To Decide Former President's Fate

Two of the greatest and most well-known movie directors of the past 50 years are teaming up on a new series. Here's what Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg are up to and how it could help<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/streaming-stocks"> a streaming company.</a>
What Happened: Scorsese and Spielberg are uniting to serve as executive producers on a "Cape Fear" series. The series, which is based on 1962 and 1991 films will <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/apple-tv-0">stream on AppleTV+</a>, a unit of Apple Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AAPL#NASDAQ">AAPL</a>). 
It is unknown if Scorsese or Spielberg will direct or write the series, or both will simply serve as producers on the project. The news was reported by <a href="https://variety.com/2024/film/news/martin-scorsese-frank-sinatra-biopic-dicaprio-jennifer-lawrence-1235973769/">Variety</a>. 
Starring Nick Nolte and Robert De Niro, the 1991 film grossed $79.1 million domestically and $182.3 million worldwide. The film centers on a lawyer who is stalked by a former client who is released from prison. Scorsese was the director of the film.
The 1962 film starred Gregory Peck and Robert Mitchum. &nbsp;
The new series isn't the only item in the works for Scorsese or Spielberg.
Scorsese plans on shooting back-to-back films according to Variety. One would be about Jesus and the other about musician Frank Sinatra.
The Jesus film is based on the 1973 book "Life of Jesus" and Scorsese is considering independently financing it.
The Sinatra film is eying Leonardo DiCaprio as the singer and Jennifer Lawrence to play the singer's second wife, Ava Gardner. This film is drawing attention from several companies including Apple, but Sony Group Corp (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SONY#NYSE">SONY</a>) is believed to be in the lead.
Spielberg is also working on a UFO film and on a series based on Napoleon Bonaparte. The series, which sources material from an unfinished film of Stanley Kubrick, will air on Warner Bros. Discovery (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/WBD#NASDAQ">WBD</a>)-owned HBO.

Why It's Important: Even as producers of the new series and no involvement beyond that, the inclusion of Scorsese and Spielberg could help AppleTV+ have a new hit series that will get a lot of attention.
Given the previous source material and the names attached, it could be one of the most highly anticipated series for Apple as it nears.
Apple <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/24/03/37558754/apples-1b-gamble-on-3-blockbusters-analyzing-box-office-results-streaming-impact-and-oscar-nominatio">spent around $1 billion</a> on three blockbuster movies in 2023, with one being the Scorsese picture "Killers of the Flower Moon."
The film drew critical praise and was nominated for 10 Academy Awards, but was ultimately shut out. The film also grossed $67.9 million domestically and $156.9 million worldwide.
Apple has worked with Spielberg in the past as the film legend is a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/entertainment/23/11/35717790/tom-hanks-steven-spielberg-back-together-for-world-war-ii-series-on-appletv-here-are-the-de">producer alongside</a> Tom Hanks on "Masters of the Air."
While it has a smaller content library, Apple's willingness to spend and grab big names along with key sports rights could make its streaming platform a must-subscribe for consumers.

Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese Team Up On New Series For This Streaming Platform

Approximately one in 10 American adults report frequent marijuana use regardless of whether they live in a legal or non-legal state, confirming that state legalization does not significantly change consumption rates, according to a Gallup poll released Thursday.
This data begs a couple of questions: Does cannabis prohibition and criminalization effectively reduce consumption among adults? Has the war on drugs deterred marijuana consumption?
"The narrow gap in cannabis consumption among residents of states where it remains illegal compared with those in states where it is legal suggests that its criminalization does little to curtail its use among American adults," <a href="https://news.gallup.com/poll/642851/cannabis-greatest-among-lower-income-less-educated.aspx#:~:text=The%20narrow%20gap%20in%20cannabis,its%20use%20among%20American%20adults.">noted </a>Gallup.
That said, Gallup wrote: "Dovetailing with broadening legalization, the percentage of U.S. adults who report that they&nbsp;smoke marijuana&nbsp;has more than doubled in the past decade, climbing from 7% in 2013 to 17% in 2023. During that same period, the percentage reporting that they have tried it at least once has climbed from 38% to 50%.&#8221;
<h1 class="wp-block-heading">Cannabis Use Highest in Middle Atlantic Region</h1>
Reports of regular cannabis use vary across the U.S. Census divisions though the Middle Atlantic region showed the highest rates. While concluding that cannabis use is comparable between legal and non-legal states, the Gallup study found the highest usage rates were observed in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, the latter being the only state that maintains adult-use prohibition. Then came East North Central divisions states of Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. 
The lowest usage rates, 7%, are reported in the East South Central states of Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi and Alabama. Followed by West North Central states of North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri.
In the East North Central division, where marijuana is prohibited in some states, 11% of adults still use cannabis regularly — again indicating a nuanced relationship between legality and usage patterns.
"These differences are statistically meaningful" as they generally align with political identity.
<h1 class="wp-block-heading">Red Vs. Blue Vs. Green</h1>
People living in red states have somewhat lower regular usage rates than blue states. Regular use is reported by 10% of Democrats and independents, but it drops to 6% among Republicans.

After <a href="https://investorplace.com/2023/07/bbig-stock-alert-nasdaq-suspends-vinco-ventures/" target="_blank">being suspended</a> from the Nasdaq last month, Vinco Ventures (OTCMKTS:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/bbig-stock-quote/">BBIG</a>) stock is still in free fall. The company has been in a race to the bottom this week, shedding more than 70% of its value in the past five days. This type of price action is commonplace for an unstable penny stock that has begun trading on an over-the-counter (OTC) exchange. But time is quickly running out for Vinco.
BBIG stock needs to regain compliance with Nasdaq regulations by Aug. 4 in order to trade on the exchange again. As that date is less than 24 hours away, prospects look bleak for the stock right now. After months of <a href="https://investorplace.com/2023/07/bbig-stock-alert-vinco-ventures-says-national-enquirer-deal-collapsed/" target="_blank">deals collapsing</a> and company <a href="https://investorplace.com/2023/07/bbig-stock-vinco-ventures-faces-more-board-shakeup/" target="_blank">board members resigning</a>, the end seems to be approaching for this meme stock.
Does this mean that investors should offload Vinco shares while they still can? Let&rsquo;s dive deeper into the troubled company and assess the damage.
<h2>What&rsquo;s Happening With BBIG Stock?</h2>
Trading has been highly volatile for BBIG stock this morning, as has often been the case recently. Despite some attempts to rally, Vinco hasn&rsquo;t been able to garner any real momentum. As of this writing, shares are down more than 25%. Given the dark storm clouds on its horizon, there&rsquo;s no reason for shares to rise, either.
It should be noted that this isn&rsquo;t the first time Vinco has come close to delisting. Early in 2023, it violated the index&rsquo;s listing requirements by <a href="https://investorplace.com/2023/02/is-vinco-ventures-bbig-stock-about-to-get-delisted/" target="_blank">failing to submit</a> earnings on time. Even before that, the company had received multiple noncompliance notices.
To say this company&rsquo;s history is checkered would be a severe understatement. While Vinco ultimately <a href="https://investorplace.com/2023/03/bbig-stock-vinco-plans-to-counter-delisting-with-april-18-meeting/" target="_blank">managed to remain</a> on the Nasdaq then, it hasn&rsquo;t been so lucky this time around. Some shareholders have made &ldquo;Hail Mary&rdquo; attempts to save BBIG stock from being permanently axed from the Nasdaq before. Now, investors are asking a judge to <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/vinco-ventures-suspended-from-nasdaq-stock-in-free-fall-2023-8" target="_blank">hear some proposals</a> regarding changes at the company. Per Business Insider:
&ldquo;One of those lawsuits is from a shareholder group that includes [Shadwrick] Vick, which is making a last-ditch effort to save Vinco&rsquo;s Nasdaq status. The shareholders filed on Monday for an emergency motion and asked the judge to hear them out by Thursday to avoid a delisting. They&rsquo;re proposing three options: an emergency motion to appoint custodians for the company, comply with Nasdaq Rules to avoid a delisting, or to appoint a receiver.&rdquo;
These crusades to keep BBIG stock from being delisted are admirable. But in all likelihood, they won&rsquo;t make much of a difference. This isn&rsquo;t the first time that retail investors have tried to save the struggling company. Previous attempts to have <a href="https://investorplace.com/2023/03/bbig-stock-can-retail-investors-save-vinco-ventures/" target="_blank">new members added</a> to Vinco&rsquo;s board didn&rsquo;t help BBIG stock. There&rsquo;s no reason to suspect that things will be any different now &mdash; especially as the company has moved even closer to the edge.
<h2>What It Means</h2>
As of now, Vinco Ventures&rsquo; future hangs in the balance. Unless the company can regain compliance by tomorrow, though, it will face the axe &mdash; and that is the more likely scenario. In my view, it&rsquo;s time for retail investors to move on and cut their losses rather than continue to rally around an unstable meme stock that can&rsquo;t be saved. <a href="https://apewisdom.io/stocks/BBIG/" target="_blank">Data from ApeWisdom</a> shows that even the r/WallStreetBets crowd is losing interest as the final bell prepares to toll for BBIG stock.

Vinco Ventures (OTCMKTS:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/bbig-stock-quote/">BBIG</a>) stock is plunging lower following a Business Insider&nbsp;<a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/vinco-ventures-suspended-from-nasdaq-stock-in-free-fall-2023-8">report</a> that stated the company has until today, Aug. 4, to regain compliance or to file a hearings panel review request with Nasdaq. Failure to comply with these actions will result in delisting. Shares of the company were <a href="https://listingcenter.nasdaq.com/IssuersPendingSuspensionDelisting.aspx">suspended</a> from the exchange on July 28.
Vinco has been plagued with issues over the past year, which has resulted in a shareholder <a href="https://www.gofundme.com/f/retail-shareholders-unite?utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=twitter">GoFundMe effort</a> to raise money in order to file a lawsuit against certain members of the company. At the time of this writing, the fundraiser has raised over $68,000 through 893 donations, with an ultimate goal of raising $69,000 plus an additional $350,000 for legal fees. An update dated July 27 notes that the proceeds of the donations have already been used to retain The Basile Law Firm. The law firm will work toward investigating if certain parties with ties to Vinco violated federal securities laws.
Per the GoFundMe page:
&ldquo;The purpose of this amended GoFundMe campaign is to raise funds to pursue potential claims against parties that used VINCO (BBIG) for self enrichment to the detriment of retail shareholders and to seek monetary damages consistent with our prospective claims under various federal and state law. We expect this case to be a multi-party, complex federal lawsuit.&rdquo;
<h2>BBIG Stock Plunges Lower in Light of Delisting Risk</h2>
Nasdaq has sent Vinco several notices of violation for late filings, such as for its second- and third-quarter earnings for 2022 as well as its 2022 10-K. On July 14, Vinco received another <a href="https://dd7pmep5szm19.cloudfront.net/2846/0001493152-23-025134.htm">violation notice</a> following the board resignations of Richard Levychin, Lisa King and Brian Hart. The departure of the three directors directly violated Nasdaq&rsquo;s &ldquo;independent director, audit, and compensation committee requirements.&rdquo; Nasdaq provided Vinco with a deadline of July 21 to file any opposition to its hearings panel.
Let&rsquo;s not forget Vinco&rsquo;s so-called TikTok competitor, Lomotif. Vinco has failed to provide any details on Lomotif&rsquo;s progress and a shareholder interviewed by Business Insider&nbsp;noted that the app has been unusable &ldquo;for months.&rdquo; That adds on top of the company&rsquo;s <a href="https://investorplace.com/2023/07/bbig-stock-alert-vinco-ventures-soars-45-after-receiving-nasdaq-delinquency-notice/">failed acquisition</a> of some of a360 Media&rsquo;s assets, which included the U.S. and U.K. versions of the National Enquirer, the&nbsp;National Examiner&nbsp;and&nbsp;Globe.

After months of struggling, another meme stock is biting the dust. Indeed, after a long, complicated journey of volatility and watching shares fall, Vinco Ventures (OTCMKTS:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/bbig-stock-quote/">BBIG</a>) stock has been delisted from the Nasdaq.
This shouldn&rsquo;t surprise anyone who has followed Vinco Ventures recently. In July 2023, Vinco received a <a href="https://dd7pmep5szm19.cloudfront.net/2846/0001493152-23-025134.pdf" target="_blank">delinquency notice</a> from the Nasdaq due to a lack of independent directors on its board. In typical meme stock fashion, this news <a href="https://investorplace.com/2023/07/bbig-stock-alert-vinco-ventures-soars-45-after-receiving-nasdaq-delinquency-notice/" target="_blank">sent BBIG stock shooting up</a>, but the growth didn&rsquo;t last long. Not long after, Nasdaq suspended trading for BBIG stock.
InvestorPlace predicted that things were likely about to get worse for BBIG and that&rsquo;s exactly what happened. The meme stock now trades via an over-the-counter (OTC) exchange.
Does this mean Vinco is destined to go the way of Bed Bath &amp; Beyond? Let&rsquo;s take a closer look.
<h2>BBIG Stock After the Nasdaq Delisting</h2>
When a company moves from a major exchange to over-the-counter, it&rsquo;s often a sign that the end is approaching &mdash; and typically on the faster side. This is often preceded by a trading suspension. Of course, even unstable companies can bounce back and regain compliance with their exchanges. But when a stock fails to do so and loses its spot, smart investors typically run the other way.
Vinco investors knew this day would come. In August, Business Insider reported that <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/vinco-ventures-suspended-from-nasdaq-stock-in-free-fall-2023-8" target="_blank">unless the company regained compliance</a> by Aug. 4, 2023 or requested &ldquo;a review by a hearings panel,&rdquo; it would be delisted. That day came and went with no progress. On Oct. 11, the exchange <a href="https://ir.nasdaq.com/news-releases/news-release-details/delisting-securities-humanigen-inc-vinco-ventures-inc-liquid" target="_blank">confirmed its plans</a> to delist BBIG stock. A <a href="https://app.quotemedia.com/data/downloadFiling?webmasterId=90423&amp;ref=317799791&amp;type=PDF&amp;symbol=BBIG&amp;cdn=c0873cb8829c1372fef0f771c94e5eeb&amp;companyName=Vinco+Ventures+Inc.&amp;formType=25-NSE&amp;formDescription=Notification+filed+by+national+security+exchange+to+report+the+removal+from+listing+and+registration+of+matured%2C+redeemed+or+retired+securities&amp;dateFiled=2023-10-12" target="_blank">filing</a> with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced that Nasdaq had &ldquo;determined to remove from listing the securities of Vinco Ventures, Inc., effective at the opening of the trading session on October 23, 2023.&rdquo;
Of course, investors can still trade BBIG stock over-the-counter. But that doesn&rsquo;t mean shares will see any growth from here. The company is still deeply troubled, with a checkered past including <a href="https://investorplace.com/2023/07/bbig-stock-vinco-ventures-faces-more-board-shakeup/" target="_blank">problems with its board</a> and <a href="https://investorplace.com/2023/07/bbig-stock-alert-retail-investors-launch-investigation-into-vinco-ventures/" target="_blank">legal investigations</a>. If any retail investors are still hoping for a short squeeze, they&rsquo;re likely in for disappointment as well. Even high short interest didn&rsquo;t lead to the BBIG stock squeeze that <a href="https://investorplace.com/2023/05/is-a-giant-short-squeeze-brewing-in-vinco-ventures-bbig-stock/" target="_blank">seemed possible</a> a few months ago. Now that BBIG no longer trades on the Nasdaq, such a scenario is even less likely to play out.
Even the traders who seek out risky plays should approach BBIG stock with extreme caution. Every bad thing that can happen to a company seems to be happening to Vinco Ventures.

BBIG Stock Alert: The Nasdaq Just Delisted Vinco Ventures

Notable earnings before Friday's open

<a href="https://investorplace.com">InvestorPlace - Stock Market News, Stock Advice &amp; Trading Tips</a>
Former Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Chair Sheila Bair recently<a href="https://www.ft.com/content/163db4c6-303d-4a52-9275-66359e4515e2"> noted that</a>, during the Federal Reserve&rsquo;s era of zero interest rates, &ldquo;money (flowed) into all sorts of unproductive uses,&rdquo; including &ldquo;zombie companies.&rdquo; In other words, firms that were generating little or no revenue and had meager chances of ever becoming profitable could stay afloat by convincing investors and lenders to provide them with cheap money. This has led to this article on companies that may go bankrupt.



But now that interest rates are much higher, no one is going to take a chance on pumping money into these firms. As a result, many of these zombie firms will declare bankruptcy by the end of next year. 



Here are three such companies that may go bankrupt.



<h2>Mullen Automotive (MULN)</h2>

I&rsquo;ve long been skeptical about Mullen Automotive (NASDAQ:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/muln-stock-quote/">MULN</a>), an electric vehicle maker whose CEO had a checkered past. Also noteworthy is that Mullen specialized in marketing EVs created by little-known Chinese companies, while the automaker issued many press releases discussing the orders that it had obtained for its EVs but generated no revenue in its last fiscal year and only $308,000 in sales in the 12 months that ended in June. 



As of the end of last quarter, the EV maker had $214 million of cash, but its operations had burned $136 million in the 12 months that ended in June. With the firm still generating little revenue and failing<a href="https://investors.mullenusa.com/news"> to generate</a> new orders for nearly four months, no one is likely to give Mullen significant amounts of money now that interest rates are elevated. Nor is it likely to raise much more money by selling additional MULN stock now that its shares are changing hands for just 25 cents, while the appetite for speculative stocks has plunged. 



As of August, Mullen had $80 million of orders outstanding. But to fulfill those orders, it will have to <a href="https://seekingalpha.com/article/4629648-mullen-bankruptcy-serious-risk">spend even more money</a> than it has in the last year, pushing itself further towards insolvency. 



Given these points, MULN is likely to burn through its cash within the next year and be unable to raise any more money, making it one of the companies likely to go bankrupt. 



<h2>Virgin Galactic (SPCE)</h2>

Virgin Galactic (NYSE:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/spce-stock-quote/">SPCE</a>) specializes in taking consumers and companies&rsquo; employees to space. In my view, SPCE is the type of &ldquo;moonshot&rdquo; company that&rsquo;s unlikely to inspire lenders or investors to provide funds going forward. As of June, the company had <a href="https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/SPCE/balance-sheet">$940 million of cash</a> and short-term investments, while its operations had burned $489 million of cash in the year that ended in June.



Moreover, like Mullen, SPCE&rsquo;s cash burn will likely significantly increase since it&rsquo;s building two spaceships<a href="https://seekingalpha.com/article/4622449-virgin-galactic-holdings-inc-spce-q2-2023-earnings-call-transcript"> to handle its backlog</a> of 800 passengers. Meanwhile, analysts, on average, only <a href="https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/SPCE/analysis?p=SPCE">expect it to</a> generate a paltry $25.2 million of revenue in 2024. Given these points, I believe that the company is likely to be very short on funds by the end of next year.



Also importantly, SPCE&rsquo;s ships have had several crashes and other mishaps, including the failure of <a href="https://news.sky.com/story/virgin-orbit-shares-set-to-crash-after-failure-of-first-uk-space-launch-12783625">an engine on </a>one of its ships in January 2023. Given that history and SPCE&rsquo;s speculative nature, I believe that large investors and lenders will be reluctant to provide the firm with funds going forward.



With SPCE&rsquo;s stock trading at $1.44 and the appetite for speculative stocks low, I believe that it will have difficulty raising money by selling more of its shares to the public.



<h2>Vinco Ventures (BBIG)</h2>

One-time meme stock Vinco Ventures (OTC<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/:bbig-stock-quote/">:BBIG</a>) tried multiple methods to generate significant amounts of revenue, including acquiring a website called Lomotif <a href="https://investorplace.com/2023/03/bbig-stock-vinco-ventures-hopes-to-leverage-u-s-tiktok-ban/">that aspired to be the next </a>TikTok, <a href="https://www.thestreet.com/memestocks/other-memes/bbig-stock-is-up-big-thanks-to-cryptyde-spinoff-record-date-heres-whats-next">getting involved in </a>crypto, and<a href="https://investorplace.com/2023/07/bbig-stock-alert-vinco-ventures-says-national-enquirer-deal-collapsed/"> seeking to acquire</a> The National Enquirer.



But Vinco<a href="https://www.linkedin.com/posts/benjaminwollenstein_bbig-investors-are-suing-company-executives-activity-7052411640566190080-PHFZ/"> has been plagued by more infighting</a> among its executives than any other firm I&rsquo;ve ever researched, along with an inability to generate significant revenue. In the third quarter of 2022, the last quarter for which the company submitted financial results, it generated only $5.6 million in sales.



On Oct. 24, BBIG <a href="https://investorplace.com/2023/10/bbig-stock-alert-the-nasdaq-just-delisted-vinco-ventures/">was delisted</a> from the Nasdaq after the exchange in July cited the company for failing to have any independent board members. But the shares are still trading on an over-the-counter exchange. On Oct. 27, they plunged 74.4% to 2.3 cents, and the company&rsquo;s market capitalization was a tiny $299,000, according to Yahoo Finance. 



This then makes BBIG stock one of those companies that may go bankrupt.

Trouble Ahead: 3 Stocks With High Bankruptcy Risk in 2023-2024

Shares of Vinco Ventures (OTCMKTS:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/bbig-stock-quote/">BBIG</a>) stock closed higher by 127% today and were up by as much as 7,150% during afternoon intraday trading. Still, shareholders shouldn&rsquo;t place too much hope on today&rsquo;s gains.



There is no news to directly explain the incline, although stocks trading in the over-the-counter (OTC) market are prone to volatile moves due to lowered liquidity. 



At one point today, the market capitalization for BBIG stock hovered around $85,000, which is around the <a href="https://www.justice.gov/ust/eo/bapcpa/20220401/bci_data/median_income_table.htm">median family income</a> for two people in many U.S. states. With today&rsquo;s rise, BBIG is now trading at just 1.2 cents. That has led to supporters of Vinco offering to buy out the company:

BBIG stock was <a href="https://investorplace.com/2023/10/bbig-stock-alert-the-nasdaq-just-delisted-vinco-ventures/#:~:text=After%20months%20of%20struggling%2C%20another,been%20delisted%20from%20the%20Nasdaq.">delisted</a> from the Nasdaq exchange in late October. Since then, the situation has only gotten worse, with the stock providing a year-to-date (YTD) loss of over 99%. While BBIG traded on the Nasdaq, it received a slew of <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/vinco-ventures-suspended-from-nasdaq-stock-in-free-fall-2023-8">noncompliance notices</a> for various issues, such as filing its quarterly earnings and annual report late. The company also experienced severe management issues, such as an <a href="https://investorplace.com/2022/07/hostile-takeover-alert-sinks-bbig-stock/">attempted hostile takeover</a> involving its top executives.



Vinco&rsquo;s downfall was led by many internal failures. These included TikTok competitor Lomotif and failed plans to acquire the National Enquirer. As reported by Business Insider, Lomotif wasn&rsquo;t working as of Aug. 2. Vinco announced in July that it would no longer pursue the National Enquirer acquisition as it <a href="https://investorplace.com/2023/07/bbig-stock-alert-vinco-ventures-says-national-enquirer-deal-collapsed/">&ldquo;wasn&rsquo;t in its best interest.&rdquo;</a>



Meanwhile, the company&rsquo;s website has seemingly disappeared, providing a barrier for shareholders to receive information.



With thousands of other suitable companies to invest in, investors should avoid BBIG stock and watch from the sidelines. Still, shareholders have taken it upon themselves to create their own <a href="https://www.bbigfamily.com/">website</a> in support of the community of shareholders and Vinco&rsquo;s uncertain future. At the time of this writing, the community boasted 2,860 shareholders who allegedly collectively own 50.12 million shares. 



The downfall of Vinco provides a valuable lesson. When there are clear red flags, such as Nasdaq compliance issues and late earnings, its best to avoid investing in that company.

MicroAlgo&nbsp;(NASDAQ:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/mlgo-stock-quote/">MLGO</a>) stock is rising higher on Wednesday after the company announced plans to <a href="https://finance.yahoo.com/news/microalgo-inc-announced-company-establish-110000220.html">establish a postgraduate training facility</a>.



According to a press release from MicroAlgo, its Chinese companies will be working together with Shenzhen University Semiconductor Manufacturing Research Institute and the Haikou Comprehensive Free Trade Zone Management Committee. These three will create the postgraduate training and practice base.



MicroAlgo notes that the creation of this location will allow for the practical teaching of relevant specialties at Shenzhen University. This will allow for a place where related industries can &ldquo;jointly cultivate excellent scientific research talents and reserve technical talent forces.&rdquo;



MicroAlgo said the following about this collaboration.




&ldquo;The joint training of postgraduate students for the industry will also contribute to the construction of academic disciplines and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements of Shenzhen University, and will make an important contribution to the development of the country, as well as to the cultivation and retention of high-end technological talents.

MicroAlgo&nbsp;stock is seeing heavy trading on Wednesday with more than 3.2 million shares of the stock changing hands as of this morning. That&rsquo;s already well above the company&rsquo;s daily average trading volume of about 1.7 million shares.
