VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - April 19, 2010) - WebTech Wireless Inc. WEW, a leading provider of vehicle fleet location-based services (LBS) and telematics technology, today announced the launch of two totally new Quadrant Transportation Solutions products at the National Private Truck Council's (NPTC) Annual Convention in Cincinnati, OH.

Quadrant In-Cab (model MDT3100), is the newest of WebTech Wireless' successful line of in-vehicle, mobile data terminals, designed to increase driver productivity and safety, as well as meet and exceed government requirements for electronic on-board recorder (EOBR) devices. The Quadrant In-Cab, with large seven-inch, colour touch-screen display, builds on the features of the existing MDT2000 series, with enhanced user interface, the ability to support third party applications using the Windows CE 6.0 operating system, and most importantly, the addition of voice command recognition (VCR) - one of the few devices on the market to do so.

VCR lets drivers respond to or initiate 'canned' messages to fleet dispatchers hands-free, allowing them to continue driving without being distracted by on-screen messages or the need to actuate buttons. Quadrant In-Cab, also supports text-to-speech and two-way messaging, and was designed for hours of service (HOS) and EOBR compliance. Its various external ports can be connected to external printers, scanners and other peripheral devices, and for HOS reporting, the device includes USB ports for connection to devices used by HOS inspectors. Quadrant In-Cab begins shipping in July.

"Quadrant In-Cab responds to the realities of the today's trucking industry facing more stringent safety legislation from the U.S. DOT regarding in-vehicle driver communication and EOBR devices. We fully support the DOT's goal of eliminating driver distraction and have always believed that all in-vehicle devices should provide just the right amount of functionality required for drivers to do their job, yet not distract them with non-essential functions, which often occurs with products not specifically designed for trucking applications. Quadrant In-Cab is; and shows that our products continue to lead the market," said Harald Fritz, VP Quadrant Sales, Government and Transport, at WebTech Wireless.

The second product launched at NPTC was Quadrant Roadvault - a heavy-duty enclosure for use with Quadrant WT5000 Locators(TM) - most commonly used in trailer-tracking applications. The high-impact resistant, weatherproof and tamper resistant unit encases the Locator and its GPS and GPRS antennas to protect them from the elements as well as road and trailer yard hazards that can easily damage sensitive electronics. The Quadrant Roadvault also incorporates a motion sensor, which 'wakes-up' the Locator when a legitimate trailer movement is detected, sending this data to fleet managers for increased security and tracking accuracy. The Quadrant Roadvault can be purchased with new WT5000s or easily retrofitted to existing installations.

Quadrant is an end-to-end transportation solution that provides innovative GPS-based, remote fleet management capabilities to the transportation industry, allowing them to monitor the location and operation of their mobile assets in real-time through web-based applications and detailed reports. In addition to monitoring numerous vehicle operating and diagnostics parameters such as fuel use and speeding, Quadrant enhances driver communication with fleet managers, electronic forms completion and hours of service (HOS) reporting, among other features.
