COLUMBUS, Ohio (PRWEB) November 29, 2022

Education Opportunity Zone Fund LLC launches seeking accredited capital gains investors for "Heroes League Game Day" ED Tech platform. The Fund is raising a $20,000,000 Series A Round.

The education of our children and the future workforce and the future of our country is in a crisis. There is less learning time, less teacher time, less parent time, more demands from the business community, and less engagement for students, i.e. they would rather watch mindless videos on Tiktok than learn how to create something of value. The negative academic, social and economic outcomes are accelerating, which make our children and our country less competitive and less likely to succeed.
Heroes League Game Day has been designed from the ground up to use "technology for good" to help solve this perfect storm of problems. Using the same game science that addicts kids to games, to get them hooked on learning the Top20 life-skills of success such as communication, teamwork, critical thinking, entrepreneurship and many more. Learning these skills delivers academic, social and economic success.

Bringing together the teachers, school administrators, government, parents, business and students and deliver a kid-driven, game-based skills learning platform that puts the child and the community back in a global leadership position.

Just a few extra minutes a day in the game has been proven to correlate to higher state reading and math test scores, the more the student plays the game. This "extended learning" time delivers what most parents, businesses and the community want – a child that is prepared to succeed.

A recent pilot program in Ohio using Heroes League online education and life skills game showed improvement in test scores among students who spent the most time playing the game. Thomas Reed, director of data, research and grants advancement at the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio, spoke on the success of the platform used during recent pilot programs at Canal Winchester, Chesapeake and one other northeast Ohio school district that was not named during a press conference held on November 14, 2022 at the Statehouse.

Reed noted the toll the pandemic had on students and test scores, and said that the pilot program showed there are ways to bridge the achievement gap. The pilot looked at scores of students who used the Heroes League Game Day platform over the course of a year and found those who used it the most saw improved scores. The improvement was also seen among minority students and those with disabilities.

The study looked at a pool of 154 students in the Canal Winchester school district grades 3-5. The pool of students included 44.6 percent minority, 20 percent with disabilities, and 30.4 percent students who are economically disadvantaged.

All subgroups showed improvement in test scores for students who played Heroes League Game Day for 10 to 60 minutes per day. The study also showed a reduced achievement gap for minority students.

Sen. Andrew Brenner (R-Delaware), chair of the Senate Education Committee, said at the event, "lawmakers and the Ohio Department of Education have been trying to look for high-quality programs that get kids engaged." He noted "that there is still federal money available for remediation of student learning affected by the pandemic, and that some of that money will be used for programs such as the Heroes League Game Day. Additionally programs like the Opportunity Zone program can be used to help accelerate educational based learning programs into areas that need them the most."

Heroes League Game Day is an online skills game where students learn 20 skills meant to help them to succeed in education and in life and is massively scalable because the students don't need classroom or teacher time and it is optimized to run on a low-end education Chromebook that can't do gaming - a device that 90% of K-6 students in Ohio and other states are using. It is currently funded through existing state education funds because it delivers more and better data that matters to all stakeholders surrounding that child.

Everyone wins – the parent sees their child getting educated properly, the teachers spend less time delivering more learning outcomes, the schools retain their students and funding, the business community gets a workforce with better skills and preparation, the government benefits from better communities that are safer and produce more economic power, and ultimately the student has greater hope of a successful life.

"Heroes League Game Day brings parents, teachers, kids, government, and businesses together to deliver the life-skills training and hope that a child needs to succeed. By using the science of game-based learning, we motivate students to learn the life-skills of success -all without the need for classroom or teacher time. We have developed this world leading education solution by serving over 10 million students over many years to deliver what they and their communities need," said fund manager Scott Dow.

The investment into this type of educational learning is a necessity as it delivers improved outcomes for students, their parents, businesses, and the country. The ability to leverage an Opportunity Zone Fund for investors with capital gains looking to defer taxes for this year to tax year 2026 and the ability to grow tax free for 10 years now allows Heroes League Game Day to expand nationally. "The Opportunity Zone program fits perfectly into our mission of reaching kids that need our learning platform the most,"said Scott Dow Fund Manager. "Additionally, the Education OZ Fund is the first education focused Opportunity Zone Fund in the country."

"US Federal, State and Local governments are focused on providing critical assistance for lifelong self-improvement to low-income families and communities. Over 8,000 Opportunity Zones were designated with significant tax benefits to encourage investment. Opportunity Zone investing initially focused on real estate, but stakeholders now realize investing in small business has far greater potential for improving academic, social, and economic outcomes in Opportunity Zones. Government specifically identified education as a critical pillar for families in Opportunity Zones," said Shay Hawkins who served as a lead policy advisor for U.S. Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), as president and chief executive officer of the Opportunity Funds Association.

The Education Opportunity Zone Fund is a qualified single asset fund offering sophisticated investors a tax leveraged conduit to invest in Next Mission Inc., an innovative high growth education technology company delivering the proven Heroes League Game Day learning platform.

Education is about to be disrupted by technology the same way Amazon did for retail and Apple did for music. The Heroes League platform is perfectly positioned to capitalize on those market forces and become a leader in educating the upcoming generation to lead and take on the coming challenges in the next generation digital world that brings physical and virtual worlds together..
