Trident University International Welcomes New Vice Provost

Effective August 1, 2022, Dr. Conna Bral has joined the American Intercontinental University System as Vice Provost for Trident University International. Dr. Bral brings more than 25 years of experience of teaching and leading in online settings to the University.

Dr. Conna Bral has joined the American Intercontinental University System (AIUS) as Vice Provost for Trident University International (Trident), effective August 1, 2022.

Dr. Bral comes to Trident from the American College of Education, where she served as Assistant Provost for Education Professions. She is a veteran online educator, holding both teaching and leadership roles over the span of 25 years.

Previous roles include Assessment and Accreditation Manager at Midwestern State University and a program dean at the University of Phoenix. Before working as an administrator in higher education, she was an elementary school counselor. She assumed her first role as an online faculty member in 1994.

Over her career as an educator, Dr. Bral has led efforts including program approval and accreditation, new program and course development, student performance and retention, faculty training and development, and several student growth initiatives.

Additionally, Dr. Bral has served as a doctoral dissertation chair. She is a published researcher of topics including assessment in higher education, leadership in online organizations, quality in competency-based programs, and online teacher preparation. Her research interests include online learning, teacher leadership, assessment, and higher education.

Dr. Bral holds a Doctorate in Educational Administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She earned a Master's in Psychology from the University of Northern Iowa, a specialist degree in educational administration from Drake University, and a Bachelor's in Education and Psychology from Mount Mercy University.
