Event organizers aim to highlight new voices in agricultural science by offering scholarships and travel grants.

ST. LOUIS (PRWEB) December 08, 2021

The organizing committee for AGBT Agriculture (AGBT Ag) is offering 10 full-ride scholarships and multiple discounted registration rates for their premier agricultural science meeting next year.

The organization is offering two types of financial awards for selected conference attendees. Ten full-ride scholarships will be awarded to scientists who have submitted abstracts and had their work accepted for presentation at the event in 2022. The organization will also offer discounted registration rates to a larger number of abstract submitters and their scientific colleagues, bringing the total event cost down to $850 per person which includes conference fees, 4 nights lodging, scientific sessions, meals, and all networking events.

"We are thrilled to launch the AGBT Ag conference award program," said Susan McCouch, member of the AGBT Ag organizing committee, chair of the scholarship program, and Professor of Plant Breeding and Genetics at Cornell University. "The full-ride awards will enable us to highlight outstanding research contributions based on an evaluation of abstracts submitted by students, post-doctorates, and early career faculty. We hope to open doors for people who might not otherwise be able to attend the AGBT Ag conference. These awards will shine a light on the achievements of young researchers from diverse disciplinary and personal backgrounds."

AGBT Ag aims to highlight emerging voices in agricultural science by offering these 10 full-ride scholarships to graduate students, post-doctorates, and early career scientists. The scholarships will cover the price of conference attendance plus travel expenses, including hotel accommodations and flights. We don't want finances to stand between you and attending the AGBT Ag.

"This is one of the most generous packages I've seen," said Susan McCouch "If you want to attend the event but are unable to come up with the cost of registration, our scholarship offerings are designed to help bridge that gap. I know from experience that this kind of recognition can really impact a career. Please step up and submit your abstracts today!"

Other attendees may be eligible for the discounted registration rates that the organization has set aside in order to make the event more accessible to a wider range of participants, from genome researchers, data scientists, breeders, policy influencers, funders, and technology innovators.

This is the inaugural AGBT Ag meeting, which brings together the leading scientific minds to collaborate, innovate, and share ideas for feeding and fueling the world.
