BRANDON, Miss., July 19, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The past year has wounded many, especially those who lost loved ones during the COVID-19 pandemic, experienced devastating financial blows, or found themselves trapped in toxic or abusive relationships while in lockdown. Author Shelley Stuart, who writes under the pen name Mallory Borrelli, has published her debut memoir, which provides a hopeful and relatable resource for those embattled in a low point of life.

In "Rock Bottom," Stuart shares her journey growing up in a broken home, being neglected as a child, and experiencing emotional abuse. After becoming pregnant at 16, Stuart struggled to trust others, became increasingly depressed, and felt uncertain as to where her life was headed. She found herself in a difficult marriage filled with lies, affairs, and drug involvement, which eventually led to a painful divorce.

"Rock Bottom" shares with readers how Stuart lost her home, battled high debts, and coped with the death of her ex-husband, her children's father, after he overdosed on drugs. In the immediate aftermath, life felt impossible to Stuart, and these repeated tragedies took a toll on her mental and physical health.

"My goal for this book is to reach as many people as possible that are feeling broken, need encouragement to rebuild their life, or have recently experienced a loss in an unexpected, tragic way," Stuart said. "I want readers to know that the stories I share in this book are more than just my experiences, but instead articulate a journey that started when I was 8 years old to reclaim my life and find my purpose."

Ultimately, "Rock Bottom" is a vivid reflection of how childhood trauma can go on to negatively impact adults. But Stuart's story is also a beacon of hope to others who have gone through similar experiences and a testament to the power of faith and prayer, through which she found healing and respite from the pain of her past. "Rock bottom" is a gentle, comforting read that reminds readers that they are never too far gone, and that God can turn mistakes and losses around to help those who are suffering to overcome life's difficult moments.

"Loved the raw emotion of this book! She really touched my heart," a reader wrote in a five-star Amazon review of "Rock Bottom".
