These technologies deliver high-performance sound quality as standalone products but when used together form a powerful system solution, demonstrating how Yamaha is uniquely equipped to support the full audio workflow from input to mixing to final output

BUENA PARK, Calif. (PRWEB) January 12, 2021

Yamaha is highlighting two of its marquee commercial audio technologies at Believe in Music 2021: the new RIVAGE PM5 and PM3 digital mixing consoles and the P+ Series family of loudspeakers from NEXO, a Yamaha company. These technologies deliver high-performance sound quality as standalone products but when used together form a powerful system solution, demonstrating how Yamaha is uniquely equipped to support the full audio workflow from input to mixing to final output.

The PM5 and PM3 mixing systems join the PM7 and PM10 models in the RIVAGE family of digital consoles offering unprecedented live sound flexibility, faster set up and expanded routing. Both the RIVAGE PM5 and PM3 models deliver maximized functionality and control from a compact footprint, while at the same time allowing customers to build a RIVAGE system to meet many requirements and budgets.

The systems feature new CS-R5 and CS-R3 control surfaces, along with the DSP-RX and DSP-RX-EX DSP engines. These refinements add new levels of versatility and scalability to the Yamaha RIVAGE PM series.

The CS-R5 control surface for the PM5 features three large touchscreens and a condensed selected channel section for smoother and intuitive operation. The PM3's CS-R3 control surface packs the full RIVAGE PM series functionality and performance into the compact console's 45-inch width.

The new DSP-RX engine provides 120 inputs, 48 mix buses and 24 matrices, while the DSP-RX-EX engine has 288 inputs, 72 mix buses and 36 matrices. The DSP-RX-EX has an increased number of slots internally available for plug-ins from 384 to 512 slots. The availability of two DSP engines with different mixing capacities, along with the two new control surfaces, offers expanded flexibility for matching the systems to applications of any scale.

Additional features include TWINLANe-based RPio622/RPio222 stage racks with Rupert Neve Designs transformer and Silk emulation, and the ability to upgrade existing Dante-based systems to 96kHz, making use of RIO (D1 & D2 generations) for unprecedented sound quality and flexibility.

NEXO is continually adding new models to its P+ Series of point-source loudspeakers. The newest member is the P15, a 15" coaxial loudspeaker, ideal for FOH and monitoring applications.

The P15 shares the same P+ Series hallmarks of the P8, P10 and P12 models. The curvilinear enclosures of custom birch and poplar plywood are unique to the P+ Series, as the bent wood significantly enhances the lightweight cabinet's robustness.

The powerful P15 delivers 139 dB (Passive) to 141 dB (Active) SPL from its purpose-built 15" Neodymium magnet coaxial driver with a 3.5" voicecoil. Frequency response is 57Hz-20kHz.

The new P15 speaker can be used independently or with its companion subwoofer, the new L18. This compact horn-loaded model has a high-excursion 18" woofer and matches the efficiencies of the P15, offering an extremely high output level (140dB Peak) and an impressive power-to-weight ratio.

Like all NEXO subs, the L18 is scalable, so it can be used with the smaller P12 point source cabinet. It shares the same range of accessories with other models in the P+ Series, making it a convenient rental item. With the ability to fly one or two L18s above a P15 cabinet, this flexible represents a cost-effective alternative to a small line array configuration in many live sound applications.
