AAEA members present new research virtually at 2021 ASSA Annual Meeting

MILWAUKEE (PRWEB) December 10, 2020

In an AAEA virtual session taking place during the Allied Social Science Association's Annual Meeting entitled "The COVID-19 Pandemic: Insights from Agricultural Economists" authors from multiple universities and from USDA's Economic Research Service will provide insights into the impact of COVID-19 on the agricultural sector. These four papers cover issues in the U.S. and in Sub-Saharan Africa and from the entire food supply chain, from production agriculture through to food waste.

The organizer of the session, Craig Gundersen from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Managing Editor of Applied Economic Perspectives and Policy says, "Agricultural economists have been at the forefront of research into the myriad impacts of this pandemic. To highlight this research, AEPP has commissioned over 20 papers as part of a special issue on COVID-19. This session reflects the breadth and depth of the papers in this special issue."
