NFI, a leading supply chain solutions provider, was recently ranked ninth in Transport Topics 2020 list of the top 50 logistics companies, moving up one position from 2019. The annual list, based on evaluation of financial and operational information, also ranked NFI in the subcategories of dry storage warehousing, dedicated contract carriers, refrigerated warehousing, and freight brokerage.

"NFI has been recognized as a top logistics company by Transport Topics since the list's inception, making it NFI's 15th consecutive year ranking as a top provider," said Sid Brown, CEO of NFI. "This milestone is a tribute to NFI's continued growth and flexibility in adapting to the ever-evolving industry. Our dedication to continuous improvement, innovation, and unparalleled customer service has contributed to our success and we look forward to many more years of helping our customers exceed their supply chain goals."

Operating more than 50 million square feet of warehousing space across North America, NFI ranked fourth in the dry storage warehousing category, moving up one position from the previous year. NFI also ranked 19th in the refrigerated category. With operations spanning major logistics hubs, NFI's distribution solutions include ecommerce fulfillment centers with a focus on automation and robotics, as well as cross-docks, transloading facilities, multi-temperature distribution centers, and food-grade warehouses. Further, NFI's in-house real estate team enhances the company's distribution solutions, specializing in acquiring or constructing custom build-to-suit facilities to meet customers' unique needs.

NFI ranked sixth in the top dedicated contract carrier category with a dedicated fleet consisting of over 3,000 tractors and 12,500 trailers operated by 2,700 company drivers and leveraging partnerships with 400 owner operators. NFI's acquisition of G&P Trucking Company expanded both NFI's asset and non-asset transportation services, as well as its southeast footprint. The company's dedicated transportation services span both dry and refrigerated with specialized equipment including tankers, flatbeds, and conestogas. Further, NFI is a leader in sustainable transportation and partners with industry-leading manufacturers like Daimler and Volvo to operate electric vehicles. Today, NFI operates 10 electric trucks in California and has implemented its own electric charging stations with plans to add additional electric trucks to its fleet this year.

Ranked as a top freight brokerage firm for the fifth consecutive year, NFI's network of over 40,000 partner carriers and 10 offices throughout North America continues to expand as the company's non-asset vertical grows. NFI's brokerage solutions deliver truckload, less-than-truckload, small parcel, intermodal, and temperature-controlled transportation while its specialized brokerage capabilities include refrigerated, flatbed, over-dimensional, and more.

Founded in 1932, NFI is one of the oldest and largest privately-held and family-owned 3PLs in North America.
