Peachtree Packaging wins prestigious award second year in a row.

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (PRWEB) March 17, 2020

Peachtree Packaging & Display has been named Gwinnett County a "2020 Manufacturer of the Year" by Partnership Gwinnett's "Movers & Makers Manufacturing & Supply Chain Awards." Peachtree won the award in the category of medium-size manufacturer and was recognized at its annual event March 5, 2020.

The Movers & Makers Awards recognizes outstanding small, medium, and large manufacturers in Gwinnett, as well as innovators in supply chain management. The event is organized by Partnership Gwinnett in collaboration with Gwinnett Technical College. The event is the largest of its kind in the state of Georgia.

This is the second year Peachtree Packaging has been recognized by Partnership Gwinnett. The company was named the Most Valuable Provider in 2019, an award that requires nomination by the local business community.

Chad Wagner, president and CEO of Peachtree Packaging, accepted the award at a breakfast at Infinite Energy Forum on March 5. More than 350 community leaders and industry experts were present, as well as Amazon Director of Regional Operations Robert Packett, who gave the keynote, and the Peachtree Packaging leadership team.

"Peachtree Packaging & Display has been thriving in Gwinnett County for 40 years. Being recognized as a ‘2020 Manufacturer of the Year' and the ‘2019 MVP' by Partnership Gwinnett is a huge honor," said Chad Wagner, president and CEO of Peachtree Packaging. "We are committed to investing in industry-leading equipment, advanced technology, and a homegrown staff so we can continue our winning streak for many years to come."

Peachtree Packaging & Display is a cutting-edge, customer-driven packaging manufacturer that employs more than 150 workers and occupies 250,000 square feet of manufacturing space at two facilities in Lawrenceville. Peachtree produces around one million square feet of product daily, a volume that equates to 21 NFL football fields of corrugated product turnover.

Managing that amount of materials in a 100,000-square-foot facility requires innovation, such as the 2018 purchase of a Gopfert 5 Color Dual-Die Cutting Press that allowed it to move from 17 pieces of equipment to eight, while still increasing production output by 10,000 full-size sheets/hour or more than 180,000,000 additional square-feet yearly. Peachtree Packaging is also a champion of green business efforts. Its products are made from 70 to 100 percent recycled materials, and it recycles 100,000 square feet of scrap and trimmings daily.

Peachtree is a leader in experiential packaging, a term it trademarked in 2019. Experiential packaging seeks to extend brand identity and messaging beyond the product to the entire package when it is delivered to the customer. This type of packaging has exploded due to e-commerce and direct-to-consumer business, where packaging is viewed as a key touchpoint between brands and consumers. Businesses can leverage high quality, creative graphics, props and messaging to build brand loyalty and drive future sales. Read more about Peachtree's services here.

Along with Peachtree Packaging, Partnership Gwinnett named six winners in the 2020 Movers & Makers Awards. The manufacturers of the year were Displayit, Peachtree Packaging, Truck Hero/Lund International, LiftMaster and Joseph T Ryerson & Son, Inc. The 2020 Corporate Citizen Award went to Alternative Apparel and the Most Valuable Provider award went to LAN Systems. Also, a new recognition "Gwinnett Cares," which recognizes companies exceptional hiring practices, went to Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US.
