Internationally Bestselling Author David Richards' New Novel, The Lighthouse Keeper, Helps Readers Master Their Own Minds in Their Free Time

RALEIGH, N.C., March 26, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Now that many people are working from home and encouraged to stay there, they may want to use their extra time to figure out what they want from life. A new book by internationally bestselling author David Richards may provide them with the direction they need to do that. Richards, who is best known for his earlier book, Whiskey and Yoga: Find Your Purpose, will release The Lighthouse Keeper: A Story of Mind Mastery on March 31.

Although his latest book is a novel, Richards says it contains lifestyle tools wrapped in a diverting plot. The Lighthouse Keeper is the story of Sam Seagrim, a chicken farmer's son who does not want to follow in his father's footsteps. To avoid that fate, he becomes an apprentice to the lighthouse keeper and undergoes a journey in which he learns how to master his own mind. Richards says, "The life of a lighthouse keeper promises responsibility. He will find adventure, the likes of which he could never have imagined. The journey that unfolds before him promises to change his life ... if he can only survive."

Although he never worked in a lighthouse Richards' life does parallel Sam's in one way.  Richards spent 15 years on active duty in the Marines before breaking from the path his father and brother had followed by choosing military careers.

He chose Sam's desired occupation deliberately. Richards says, "I got the idea to have my protagonist work at a lighthouse because most people's minds are like the ocean and they send out their light like a lighthouse instead of directing their attention where they want it to go."

In an interview, Richards can talk about:

  • Understanding how the human mind works to increase one's focus
  • Tips for directing one's focus to reach one's full potential
  • The No. 1 thing that holds 95% of the population back.
  • The power of meditation

Praise for The Lighthouse Keeper

"The Lighthouse Keeper is a must-read! As you traverse with Sam on his incredible journey, you are sure to gather transformational tools to bring—even more—light to yours." Elizabeth Trinkaus, author, podcast host of Enough Already! Yes, You Are

"The Lighthouse Keeper immediately captures the reader's attention with beautiful language that lights up both the heart and the imagination with color and sound. … The Lighthouse Keeper cleverly weaves meditative tools, ideas and practices for the reader to ingest, while simultaneously echoing the universal truth that no matter how tumultuous life's oceanic atmosphere is, one can always find stillness in the chaos. This story sits easily in the company of other literary giants such as The Alchemist, Life of Pi, and Shantaram." Krista Xiomara, author of The Alchemy of Kindness
