Belatrix's Silvana Gaia recognized at the prestigious event in Silicon Valley

SAN FRANCISCO (PRWEB) October 11, 2019

Belatrix Software, a leading software development company, is proud to announce that Silvana Gaia, Customer Success Manager, was nominated as "Role Model of the Year" in the prestigious Women in IT Awards in Silicon Valley. The award ceremony took place on Wednesday evening with a gala dinner.

As the Women in IT Awards point out, the representation of women in US tech has steadily declined over the past 15 years. In Silicon Valley just 11% of executives are female. The awards therefore aim to champion those who have achieved success, find role models, and encourage greater participation in the industry.

Silvana joined Belatrix as our 9th employee back in 2002, as a developer. Since then she has worked in various different roles, from being a developer, project lead, account manager, technical consultant, to production director. In 2014, she set up Belatrix's Technical Consulting practice. Today, based in San Francisco, Silvana has been instrumental in creating Belatrix's new "Customer Success Management" function. As Customer Success Manager, she is responsible for ensuring Belatrix's laser-focus on our customers. She works closely with our customers to help them understand and implement the latest technologies in their organizations.

Silvana has been, and continues to be, an outstanding ambassador for Belatrix and the wider technology community. Over the past year, she has been a frequent tech conference contributor and attendee - events range from Dreamforce, to Women Who Code Connect, to smaller local events such as the San Mateo County "MeetUp for Scrum Professionals", and "Lean. In Latinas". Silvana has also been a prominent advocate of reducing the gender gap in technology, and has been a strong voice encouraging women to take up technology-focused careers. Advocating extensively in the media, she has written numerous articles for magazines and other industry publications.

After the event, Silvana commented that "I feel very honored to be nominated among such amazing women and feel very proud about the recognition. I'm confident that these kinds of initiatives will encourage other women to keep providing their valued contribution to the tech industry".

Alex Robbio, President and Co-founder of Belatrix, congratulating Silvana, commented that "we're incredibly proud of Silvana's achievements and for this recognition which is wholly deserved. It's incredibly important to encourage more women to start careers in the tech industry. Her passion, dedication, integrity and intelligence make Silvana an excellent role model both for those at Belatrix and the broader industry".
