CHICAGO, Sept. 19, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- For the second year, Robert Morris University Illinois has been recognized as a Great College to Work For, specifically receiving accolades for Collaborative Governance and for Work/Life Balance.

The program developed from the partnership formed by The Chronicle of Higher Education and ModernThink, which co-founded the Great Colleges to Work For Program. ModernThink provided the survey, research and analysis engine as the basis for the program. Now in its twelfth year, Great Colleges to Work For is regarded as one of the largest and most respected workplace recognition programs in the country, honoring higher education institutions that get top ratings from their faculty and staff regarding workplace practices and policies.

Robert Morris University Illinois is a private, not-for-profit baccalaureate and graduate degree granting institution. The survey took into account employee turnover and salaries, as well as opinion and commentary by participants.

In reacting to the honor, Robert Morris University President Mablene Krueger commented, "Our faculty and staff are continuously striving to improve and promote student success. The culture perpetuated at RMU is one of being student-centered - every minute of every day. Our faculty and staff celebrate experience-based learning, understanding that it is central to student success. They value our diverse student body, are proud to educate students who are first in their families to attend college, and focus on preparing students to enter directly into a career upon graduation. They work collaboratively across disciplines and departments to ensure our graduates can contribute immediately to their organizations."

Comments from employees included:
"(Robert Morris) is more than just a work place. It has become a family."
"I genuinely feel that administration care for me and want me to succeed in my career."
"The clarity offered and open door policies make this a good place to work."

Ann Bresingham, Vice President for Human Resources, indicated that the recognition is indicative of the commitment and dedication of all RMU employees. "We value the honor particularly because of the highly respected reputation of The Chronicle of Higher Education. The voluntary responses they received from employees in conducting the survey reaffirms our mission of providing a positive environment for employees in service to our students."
