New Survey by ThickTails Among Women Reveals the Extent of Hair Loss During the Menopause

LONDON, July 5, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- A survey in June 2019 conducted by ThickTails, the world leader in female anti-DHT hair loss solutions, among 645 American women between 48 and 56 years-old revealed that 59% stated that they had suffered either mild, average or severe hair loss during the previous 12 months.

This is congruent with previous medical studies that have shown that during menopause, a woman's estrogen levels fall and the body has a greater presence of testosterone. In turn, dihydrotestosterone (DHT) attaches to hair receptors, which causes the hair to get thinner and fall out.

According to the National Women's Health Network "hair loss during menopause is often attributed to changes in hormones."

"It's because after menopause, the estrogen is no longer in the baby to counter the testosterone," explains Iain Sallis, Director of the Institute of Trichologists.

ThickTails has created a free booklet for women concerned that their hair is at risk from hormonal changes due to menopause and how to protect themselves. Click https://promo.thicktails.com/menopause to download it immediately.
