MINNEAPOLIS, June 25, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- ExceleraRx® Corp is pleased to recognize member pharmacists who have earned or recertified for the exclusive Certified Specialty Pharmacist (CSP) credential from the Specialty Pharmacy Certification Board (SPCB). The newly CSP-certified pharmacists in the Excelera Specialty Pharmacy Network are:

  • Brian Lounsbery, RPh, CSP – Avera
  • Jenifer Wollman, PharmD, CSP – Avera
  • Caryn Queiruga, PharmD, AAHIVP, CSP – Banner Health
  • Mulham Alassad, PharmD, CSP – Partners Healthcare
  • Mark D'Ambrosi, RPh, CSP – Yale New Haven
  • Mitchell Del Vecchio, PharmD, CSP – Yale New Haven
  • Kristen Murray, PharmD, CSP – Yale New Haven
  • Harold Scheidel, PharmD, CSP – Yale New Haven
  • Kim Tynik, PharmD, CSP – Yale New Haven
  • Michael Zummo, PharmD, CSP – Yale New Haven

The SPCB's certification process is a voluntary program that provides nationally recognized accreditation. Pharmacy professionals who undertake the CSP assessment program can verify their aptitude in specialty pharmacy generally, as well as in their specialized area. Unlike licensure, which is state-specific and obligatory, the CSP credential is a key indicator to employers, manufacturers, patients, payers, other healthcare providers and the public at large that a professional is qualified in a variety of practice settings. The majority of Excelera members have one or more pharmacists currently designated as CSP.

"This accreditation is a noteworthy achievement and we applaud our Members' dedication to high-quality care," said Lorrie Carr, CEO of ExceleraRx Corp. "Excelera is committed to continuous performance improvement and the accomplishments of these dedicated professionals is evidence of our mission to build a collaborative network of the most qualified specialty pharmacists. We are very proud of the pharmacists in our network – all of whom work very hard every day to deliver high quality, integrated care for complex patients."

"The Certified Specialty Pharmacist (CSP) credential is the nation's premier certification for pharmacists and the organizations they work for to receive recognition for expertise in specialty pharmacy," said George Zula, RPh, MBA, CSP, SPCB President. "Pharmacists earning the CSP credential have demonstrated knowledge of the professional domains that encompass the tasks and knowledge required of specialty pharmacy services."
