Frontenac Mortgage Investment Corporation Appoints New Director

SHARBOT LAKE, ON, June 18, 2019 /CNW/ - The Board of Directors of Frontenac Mortgage Investment Corporation is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Ryan Seeds as a Director of the Corporation. Mr. Seeds has been appointed to fill a vacancy on the Board and will stand for election by the shareholders at the Annual General Meeting in June 2020. Mr. Seeds earned his Chartered Professional Accountant designation in 2007. In 2008 he purchased the family public accounting Firm from his father and carried on the successful business for the next 8 years. He sold the Firm in 2016 and has been providing CFO services since. Mr. Seeds past Board experience includes serving as the Chair of the Frontenac Community Futures Development Corporation for over 4 years. The Frontenac CFDC's purpose is to build business in rural areas across Ontario by providing free advice and access to its $1 million loan fund. Mr. Seeds was on the investment, audit, human resources and finance committees. Being on the Board of Directors gave him an appreciation for the importance of accurate financial reporting, good governance and best practices to make boards run smoothly. Mr. Seeds has also audited the financial statements for private and public corporations. This has given him an intimate understanding of how to design a good system of internal controls and how to ensure financial statements are compliant with generally accepted accounting principles. This required him to work closely with the audit committee and Board of Directors to navigate issues and provide clear disclosures to shareholders and investors.
