LUXEMBORG CITY, Luxembourg, May 22, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Today, Keymitt launched a Kickstarter campaign for their namesake product - a smart lock with a universal retrofit that is easily installed over an existing lock, making any door lock smart. It is now available for the early bird price of $99 (Retail: $150).

The device pairs with the Keymit app to lock and unlock. Installation is simple and it fits easily over an existing lock, keeping existing mechanical locks intact, allowing for emergency manual entry or retrofit removal with no extra costs. It is set apart from competitors with its universal retrofit that is compatible with EU, Japan, and US locks (deadbolt, cylinder, and mortise locks), four high capacity lithium batteries, and added turning force, meaning it won't jam.

"We designed Keymitt with easy installation, security, and quality in mind. It's ideal for any household or business and is the only smart lock made in Germany with high-quality German engineering," said co-founder and CEO Vlad Gherciu. "After two years of research and development we're thrilled to be bringing our smart lock solution to Kickstarter backers."

On top of controlling lock/unlock functions, the Keymitt App lets users check on lock battery levels, receive alerts on unexpected activity, and view entry history. A gesture control function lets users unlock and lock the door via a pre-defined gesture with your smartphone.

The system connects to your phone via Bluetooth or extends the range remotely via an optional WiFi bridge called the Hub. With the Hub, users can control the door from anywhere in the world and connect to Amazon Alexa, Alexa, IFTTT, Google Assistant, and Airbnb calendar integration.

Keymitt has AES 256 encryption to secure the system from hacking. For added security, if an intruder is trying to break into your home, Keymitt will trigger alerts on your smartphone. The lock is fully autonomous and is powered by a set of batteries that will last for at least one year.

In a survey of Airbnb hosts in Central Europe, handling keys cause a close second to cleaning and maintenance as the biggest headache.

"As a former Airbnb enthusiast myself, keys would constantly get lost, guests would be late, and it quickly became a full-time gig. The Keymitt system works seamlessly as a solution for short term rental hosts like those on Airbnb, VRBO, and HomeAway, and even integrates with an Airbnb calendar for ease of use," said co-founder Jakub Jakubiak. "It's also ideal for individual homes, real estate brokerage, specialized care homes, like elder care, and for co-working and co-living spaces."

They Keymitt App is available on both Google Play and the iOS Apple Store.

The estimated delivery date of Keymitt is end of Q4 2019. For more information on their rewards and pledges, see Keymitt's Kickstarter page. Media wishing to interview their personnel should contact PR agent, Rosemary Newton at rosemary@properpropaganda.net
