HOUSTON, Jan. 21, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Advanced Bioidentical Hormone Therapy has always been committed to bringing the best team members on board to provide top-notch patient care. To this end, the clinic has added a new Physician Assistant to the team.

Lindsey Blaha brings 14 years of experience in her field to AB Hormone Therapy. She has done previous work in the areas of Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery, Adult Orthopedic Surgery, and Primary Care.

Personal tragedy sparked her interest in bioidentical hormone therapy.

Blaha lost her sister to breast cancer at an early age. This set her on the path of seeking better ways to treat patients, or even prevent some disease states. Her search brought her to Functional Medicine and Hormone Replacement Therapy.

"When I worked in Primary Care I noticed the health care community really doesn't spend a lot of time determining the cause behind the patient's symptoms," says Blaha. "Unfortunately, many medical providers spend more time prescribing medicine to treat the disease state than they do preventing disease states. I feel strongly that an experienced Health and Wellness practitioner is a valuable addition to any primary health care team. By addressing hormone imbalances and deficiencies we can significantly improve existing disease states and help to prevent new ones."

Blaha obtained her Masters of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Saint Louis University. But she hasn't stopped there. Blaha is committed to continuing education. She constantly researches new and better ways to treat her patients, attending frequent lectures and conferences on Functional Medicine, Anti-aging, Hormone Balance, Thyroid Optimization, and treating vitamin and mineral deficiencies.

She has been successful at helping her patients improve menstrual symptoms, correct energy deficiencies and sleep issues, resolve libido problems, and relieve pain.

"Everyone can achieve optimal health and wellness," Blaha notes. "No one has to just accept the symptoms associated with getting older. That's why I'm excited to join the exceptional team of providers at AB Hormone Therapy, where I can continue to offer comprehensive care to my patients."
