INDIANAPOLIS, Jan. 15, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (Sigma) was awarded two 2018 American Journal of Nursing (AJN) Book of the Year Awards. These awards are regarded as one of the most important and prestigious designations of excellence in nursing book publishing. Now in its 49th year, the AJN Book of the Year competition has recognized Sigma for the last 10 consecutive years.

Following are the Sigma books recognized by AJN:

-Evidence-Based Practice in Action: Comprehensive Strategies, Tools, and Tips from the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics was awarded second place in the Nursing Education/Continuing Education/Professional Development category. Evidence-Based Practice in Action is a unique, application-oriented evidence-based practice (EBP) resource of the latest Iowa Model Revised: Evidence-Based Practice to Promote Excellence in Health Care. This book offers a detailed plan to guide nurses and healthcare leaders in promoting EBP adoption and implementation.
