ORANGE, Calif., Jan. 2, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- CyberGuard Compliance, a global provider of IT-compliance and cybersecurity services, is assisting clients with addressing the changes to the SOC 2 standards in 2019, now that TSP Section 100 is in place. The Company has a detailed guide to the SOC 2 compliance standard governing data security. The e-book, The Essential Guide to SOC 2: What It Is and Do You Need It?, is available for free download at https://info.cgcompliance.com/essential-guide-to-soc-2-what-it-is-do-you-need-it.

CyberGuard Compliance also published a guide to help organizations identify the changes, which took place regarding SOC 2 and SOC 3 audit reporting, effective December 15th, 2018. The whitepaper is available for download at https://info.cgcompliance.com/trust-services-criteria-tsp-section-100

In late 2017, the Assurance Services Executive Committee (ASEC) of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) released guidance for the updated version of the Trust Services Criteria for SOC 2 and SOC 3 audits. In the free whitepaper from CyberGuard Compliance, companies will learn:

  • How the 2013 COSO Framework integrates into SOC 2 and 3 Reports.
  • The 17 principles of the 2013 COSO Framework and how they enhance organizational controls.
  • What organizations will need to do in order to comply with the 2017 Trust Services Criteria.

The new framework affects those service organizations which will be issuing SOC 2 and/or SOC 3 reports with reporting periods ending after December 15, 2018. Companies, who did not early adopt the new standard, will need to prepare for examinations of their controls under the new criteria, which aligns with the new COSO framework.

"Regulators continue to tighten cybersecurity compliance rules in order to protect companies and consumers from data breaches," says Tim Roncevich, Partner at CyberGuard Compliance. "A SOC 2 report from an independent auditor shows clients that your systems are protected against data breaches and that their data is safe with your company. We at CyberGuard Compliance take pride in making sure we provide expert guidance to our clients when it comes to SOC 2 audits and the changes required by TSP Section 100."
