Mellanox HDR InfiniBand Solutions Accelerate New Supercomputer for Advanced Research Computing at the University of Michigan


The "Great Lakes" High-Performance Computing and Artificial
Intelligence Supercomputer will Enhance Research and Discoveries and
Serve Thousands of Users Across the University

SUPERCOMPUTING CONFERENCE — Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. (NASDAQ: MLNX), a leading supplier of high-performance, end-to-end smart
interconnect solutions for data center servers and storage systems,
today announced that its new generation of HDR InfiniBand solutions
consisting of ConnectX®-6 adapters, Quantum™ switches, LinkX® cables and
software accelerate the new supercomputer at the University of Michigan.
The new supercomputer named "Great Lakes" will enhance the university
research activities and provide scalable high-performance computing
(HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure for thousands of
users across the university.

The new HPC and AI supercomputer was deployed by Dell EMC and includes a
nearly 13,000 processor-cores unit, and a 25,600 GPU-cores unit, built
in a hybrid topology, interconnected by a Mellanox smart InfiniBand
network. The combined performance of both units delivers more than one
Petaflop of performance.
