SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 17, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- ASD Global announced today that its Board of Directors, following a detailed review of the company's growth strategies and structure, has approved a preliminary plan to spin off the Engineering Business Unit into the newly formed OptiPlant Inc. The Government Business Unit will continue to operate as ASD's core business unit.

OptiPlant Inc's corporate headquarters are located in Silicon Valley and OptiPlant will establish a Customer Success and Delivery center in Houston, Texas. OptiPlant's new Houston office demonstrates its commitment and dedication to support the success of existing customers within the Oil, Gas, and Chemical Industry. Sonali Singh will become the Co-Founder/CEO of OptiPlant Inc. She will continue to define and execute the business plan scaling up adoption of the current OptiPlant solution and in parallel grow R&D on complementary AI technologies to build the next phase of OptiPlant solutions. Manu Chatterjee, Chairman and Co-Founder will devote his time as a Technical advisor to those R&D activities. The core sales and technical experts will continue as Team OptiPlant.

OptiPlant Inc, as an innovative technology company, will focus on providing knowledge-based AI automation solutions to the global design market. Low oil prices and market volatility forced the Industry to make their organizations more efficient and now these organizations need to ensure that productivity remains high. OptiPlant's 3D conceptual design and engineering automation software product delivers greater productivity to all major engineering disciplines and reduces costs on Capital facilities projects globally. ASD will continue to provide IT services for the US State and Federal agencies in partnership with key strategic alliances. There will be no organization change or disruption as this Business Unit was already operating independently.
