SAN ANTONIO, Sept. 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Eighty-eight percent of employees are certain their paychecks are accurate, according to results from the 2018 "Getting Paid In America" survey conducted by the American Payroll Association (APA) for National Payroll Week.

"This year's survey results continue to reflect an overwhelming trend of employee confidence in the outstanding work of America's payroll professionals," said Dan Maddux, executive director of the APA. "Kudos to payroll professionals for their continued excellence ensuring America's employees are paid accurately and on-time, every time."

The annual APA survey asked "How certain are you that your payroll withholding and the net amount of your paycheck are correct each payday?" In response, 88 percent of survey participants indicated they are certain or very certain the net amount of their paycheck is correct.

"Payroll has often been considered a business function that should run like clockwork," said Lisa Sterling, chief people and culture officer at Ceridian. "Organizations should embrace new technologies and methodologies to deliver payroll in the most accurate and timely manner possible. When people trust who they work for they are more likely to remain engaged and satisfied with their jobs."

The "Getting Paid In America" survey was held in conjunction with the APA's annual public awareness campaign National Payroll Week, September 3-7. Over 34,000 individuals responded to the survey, providing insight into how employees are paid in America. To learn more about the survey, visit
