BOSTON (PRWEB) September 10, 2018

Blackbird Technologies has settled a patent infringement lawsuit related to programmable wireless communications devices.

In August 2014, M2M Solutions, LLC initiated a patent infringement action against Enfora, Inc. ("Enfora") and Novatel Wireless Solutions Inc. ("Novatel") in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware (14-cv-1101). The patent at issue is U.S. Patent No. 8,648,717 ("the ‘717 patent"), entitled "Programmable Communicator." The ‘717 patent relates to an innovative machine-to-machine module in which telephone numbers or IP addresses to which the device sends outgoing transmissions can be remotely and securely updated using a specific authentication protocol. In June 2017, Blackbird Technologies acquired the ‘717 patent and was joined as a plaintiff to the action. The parties settled the case last month.

Wendy Verlander, President and CEO of Blackbird Technologies, said, "This patent describes an important improvement to the world of smart devices that allows wireless updating and programmability. As a result, the devices have significantly improved efficiency and usefulness. We are very pleased that the inventor of this cutting edge technology is able to see the value of her important contribution."
