Mobodexter has announced the launch of its first appliance product for IoT Edge Computing under its flagship PASSMER brand. Aptly named SmartEDGE, it's ready to use plug and play box with pre-built PASSMER Edge Software. Built as Dockers for easy install, uninstall and upgrade, SmartEDGE saves enterprises thousands of dollars by running analytics of the live data on Edge before sending it to PASSMER cloud.

The upgraded 2.2 PASSMER Edge software installed on the docker includes a new Rules Engine feature for PASSMER Cloud. The built-in rules engine with predefined conditions helps save cost with timely actions and by eliminating the need for human intervention. A developer can define rules for each data set and select a predefined condition to set an action in motion. This will help build automation in an IoT project.

One of the main benefits of the SmartEDGE appliance is that it eliminates the hardware dependencies of an IoT project and allows seamless integration across multiple servers and sensors.
