LEXINGTON, Mass., Sept. 19, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mimecast Limited MIME, a leading email and data security company, was recognized by two prestigious intuitions for its exceptional workplace culture. The Boston Business Journal (BBJ) named Mimecast number 7 on the list of 20 companies who made the list of "Best Places to Work in Massachusetts" under the category of "large company." Additionally, Battery Ventures, a global investment firm, and Glassdoor, one of the world's largest job and recruiting sites, named Mimecast among the "25 Highest Rated Public Cloud Computing Companies To Work For."

This is the first year Mimecast has been named to the BBJ "Best Places to Work" list, which is based on employee responses. This accolade comes on the heels of major corporate milestones, including a recent move to a new 79,000 square foot North American headquarters in Lexington, Mass to accommodate rapid growth and further innovation.

The Battery Ventures, Glassdoor list ranks 25 publicly traded business-to-business cloud companies, based on employee feedback about work satisfaction shared on Glassdoor. Being ranked on the list for the third consecutive year, Mimecast earned an overall company rating of 4.1, with the broader average across Glassdoor being a 3.4. Mimecast CEO Peter Bauer boasts a 91 percent approval rating compared to an average of 69 percent. Furthermore, Mimecast has an 86 percent positive business-outlook rating, compared to the Glassdoor average of 48 percent.

"Our ranking as a top cloud computing company to work for and best place to work in Massachusetts reflects that sentiment as we continue to focus on providing employees with a positive and rewarding work environment. For the past 15 years, Mimecast remained dedicated to creating a distinctive company culture in an effort to enable employees to do their best work as well as to maintain top talent to drive innovation in the email security space," said Peter Bauer chief executive officer at Mimecast. "At Mimecast, we consider our employees to be our most valuable assets and will continue to strive to be a top employer at our locations throughout the world."

Glassdoor noted that employees at these highly rated companies commonly mention in online reviews that they enjoy working for mission-driven companies with strong and unique company cultures; employers that promote transparency; and companies with experienced senior leaders who regularly and clearly communicate with employees. For instance, according to a few anonymous employee reviews of Mimecast on Glassdoor:

"You are working with some of the smartest people in the industry. The CEO, Peter Bauer, really cares about this company and his employees. Hard to find that in a CEO."

"Great company with an even greater product. Sr. Management has created an atmosphere that is both rewarding and challenging."

The BBJ Best Places to Work Award is designed to honor the area's leading employers, and companies are judged based on the results of an employee survey, administered by Quantum Workplace, asking them to rate their respective work environment, work-life balance, job satisfaction, advancement opportunities, management, compensation and benefits.
