Fluor Corporation FLR announced today that having successfully completed the development phase of the first phase of the Seagreen Offshore Wind Farm, it has sold its 50 percent stake to SSE Renewables, a division of Scottish energy company SSE.

Fluor was an equal owner with SSE Renewables of Seagreen Wind Energy Limited, which holds exclusive rights to develop the offshore wind development zone located about 16 miles off the Angus coast of Scotland. Seagreen has the potential to generate 2.8 gigawatts of energy.

A portion of the proceeds of this sale was assumed in the original earnings-per-share guidance that Fluor issued on Aug. 2, 2018.
