Patrick K. Freer and Shelly Cooper Receive NAfME Exceptional Editorial Service Awards

Academic journal editors from Georgia State University and University of Nebraska Omaha received recognition from NAfME for long and distinguished service to the organization.

RESTON, Va., Aug. 29, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- At its 2018 National Leadership Assembly, the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) recognized two academic journal editors who recently completed long and distinguished service to the organization. The presentation of the 2018 Exceptional Editorial Service Awards by NAfME President Kathleen D. Sanz took place on Friday, June 29, at the Tysons Sheraton in Tysons Corner, Virginia.

Patrick K. Freer of Georgia State University in Atlanta spent more than twelve years on the editorial team, culminating in service as the Academic Editor, of Music Educators Journal.

Shelly Cooper of the University of Nebraska Omaha served for seven-and-a-half years as the Academic Editor of General Music Today.
