Students and alumni can post reviews and questions on more than 1,800 college profiles.

WASHINGTON, Aug. 28, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. News & World Report, the global authority in education rankings, today announced the addition of User Ratings and Reviews to Best Colleges profiles on This new content will serve as a platform for current students and alumni to share their college experiences and to answer prospective students' questions about campus culture, dining, extracurricular organizations, teaching styles and more.

The new section includes: 

  • User ratings on a 5-point scale, for both the school overall and individual categories, such as city and setting, activities and social life, health and safety, and dining and food.
  • School reviews from students, parents, alumni, staff and others.
  • A Q&A portion where current students and alumni can post answers, sharing their experiences and advice for future undergraduates.

User Ratings and Reviews furthers U.S. News' mission of providing helpful information to students and their families in their college search. The information does not influence the Best Colleges rankings or methodology, which are based on numerous factors of academic quality.
