ORLANDO, Fla., August 23, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- With the excitement surrounding the upcoming 2018 Big 12 football season, the Conference and technology partner NeuLion College, the creator of industry-leading technology products for college athletics, have launched a brand-new custom-built mobile app that delivers a deeper fan experience and promotes engagement with the postseason events.

The new Big 12 app delivers everything fans need to stay connected with the Conference and its championship events. Fans will continue to have access to the latest news, audio and video content, and social messaging features. In addition, the new app will deliver exclusive content that can only be accessed on the mobile app, including video content, news and information, along with championship specific content such as tickets, brackets, guides, and venue information to engage fans like never before. Giving fans the ability to stay uniquely connected to Big 12 action is especially important around Conference championship time.

"Our digital strategy is predicated on being mobile-first," said Bob Burda, Big 12 Associate Commissioner for Communications. "This new Big 12 Sports app is an impactful part of this strategy. Working with NeuLion College, we have improved virtually every part of the app and are excited to give fans access to original and unique content."

The Big 12 Conference produces and publishes hundreds of hours of content throughout the year including features, live games and teleconferences, The Big 12 Podcast, press conferences, and game highlights. The new mobile app puts this content at fans' fingertips and allows them to watch and listen at their convenience.

Getting fans to the content they want quickly is a key feature of the new app and is made possible through cleaner navigation and menus that the Big 12 Conference can change and reorder on demand through NeuLion College's content management system. Enhanced push notification capabilities in the new app allow users to opt into notifications for their favorite sports and provides the Big 12 the ability to push custom geographically targeted updates to fans.

"NeuLion College is thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with the Big 12 to create customized applications to fit the unique needs of their Conference office," said President of NeuLion College, Tim Vargas. "Together, we have built unprecedented control for the Big 12 to manage the app as well as for fans of the Big 12 to engage with their extraordinary content and stay connected."

The Official Big 12 Conference app is available on both mobile and tablet devices for iOS and Android. The app is free to download, and users can access unlimited content anytime, anywhere. New Big 12 Conference applications for Apple TV and Roku are expected to launch in the coming weeks.
