InventHelp Inventor Develops Security System for Boats (BMA-5177)

PR Newswire

PITTSBURGH, Aug. 23, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- "A boat theft took place while I was a mere two boats over in the Bahamas," said an inventor from Mashpee, Mass. "The family who owned the boat was away and staying at a dockside hotel. I could not believe it. I thought that if their boat had been equipped with an alarm, I would have heard it and could have contacted the authorities to stop the crime in progress. That's when I came up with the idea to create a simple and inexpensive boat alarm that anyone could afford and install themselves. The idea is to scare off the intruder (thief) and prevent the theft rather than tracking it after the fact."

He created a prototype for the BOAT COP to sound an alarm if the boat is accessed by unauthorized individuals. This scares off trespassers, thieves and other criminals. It also enables others nearby to contact the authorities to report a crime in progress. The system alerts the owner that the boat is in danger as well. The invention helps bring criminals to justice. Additionally, the alarm system is adaptable for use with new and existing boats, as well as other vehicles (i.e., ATVs, bicycles, snowmobiles, etc.).
