D.J. Jordan, Former Hill Communications Director, Joins Pinkston Group

Growing strategic communications firm welcomes new director

PR Newswire

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 23, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Pinkston Group, a strategic communications consultancy based in the D.C.-metro area, today announced that Darrell "D.J." Jordan, who most recently served as communications director for U.S. Sen. James Lankford, is joining the firm as its newest director.

"D.J. brings significant experience to Pinkston Group, having worked for major news outlets and as communications director in various roles in the federal government," said David Fouse, partner at the Pinkston Group. "He knows what kinds of stories reporters and the public find compelling, and he knows how to help leaders tell their stories in an effective way -- whether it's in print, on screen or in person. His unique ability to fuse these two perspectives is what has led to his success and it's why we're thrilled to have him on board."

In his previous roles as communications director for Lankford and the House Small Business Committee, and as press secretary for House Appropriations Subcommittee Chairman Robert Aderholt, Jordan secured national and local coverage on key policy issues. As an editor and producer for Fox and CNN, he helped develop coverage of breaking and featured news.

As director at the Pinkston Group, Jordan will lead a team of experienced strategists, designers and writers in creating and implementing strategic communications campaigns for companies, nonprofit organizations, advocacy groups and individuals. Leveraging his extensive experience and network, he will also help expand the Pinkston Group's presence in new industries and sectors.

"I am excited to join the Pinkston Group and be a part of a purpose-driven team of effective storytellers," Jordan said. "This dynamic, agile and growing firm is at the forefront of innovative campaigns that can break through in a complex media landscape."

Jordan earned a master's degree in public management at The Johns Hopkins University, where he fine-tuned his understanding of public policy. As such, he is ideally positioned to lead and implement strategic public relations campaigns for Pinkston Group clients.

"D.J. knows the kind of audiences we work with, but more importantly, he knows how to reach beyond those audiences to captivate new ones," said Christian Pinkston, founder and partner of the Pinkston Group. "He's sharp, forward-thinking and incredibly articulate. There's no one better equipped to help us grow."
