The No. 1 Mattress Manufacturer Brings Comfort to The Masses with Labor Day Mattress Sale Because No One Should Settle for A "Sorta" Comfortable Sleep

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill., Aug. 23, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Named the No. 1 mattress manufacturer for the seventh year in a row1, no one knows better than Serta that a comfortable sleep is essential to a productive work day. A recent study2 indicated the single biggest threat to the American workforce is lack of sleep, resulting in billions of dollars lost in productivity. To combat the afternoon slump and improve overall workplace productivity, Serta is taking a stand this Labor Day on laying down and announcing afternoon comfort breaks at its headquarters. At HQ, all employees are encouraged to get comfortable and take a 20 minute comfort break in the Serta "bed room," a break room filled with beds, blankets and pillows.

Serta Simmons' Director of Human Resources, Cary Charles, relaxes during an afternoon Comfort Break at company headquarters in Hoffman Estates, Ill.

According to the National Sleep Foundation employees are experiencing the strongest urge to sleep between one to three p.m. during the working hours and a 20 minute break can go a long way to increase productivity. Better yet, a little bit of comfort can go a long way! "As a proven pioneer in the comfort space, we think what every company needs is an official comfort break in the afternoon," said Andrew Gross, Executive Vice President of Marketing at Serta. "So we're asking American workers to sign a petition for official comfort breaks at workplaces across the US on to help increase productivity." In addition, Serta is inviting companies to share the need for a "Comfort Break" room on social media. The first company to respond will get an upgraded break room with comfortable mattresses, blankets and pillows courtesy of Serta.

"We're a brand that's been at the forefront of comfort for more than 85 years and know that a good night's sleep is the key to a productive day," said Warren Kornblum, interim chief marketing officer at Serta Simmons Bedding. "Serta is all about comfort and we believe Americans are just getting a 'sorta' comfortable night's sleep if they're not on a Serta mattress. Because we are all about comfort, we're encouraging employees across the U.S. to go to and demand comfort during the workday with an official 20 minute afternoon break."

Serta is making it easy to bring comfort to the masses this Labor Day with up to $700 in savings on Serta iComfort mattress sets purchased between August 12, 2018 and September 10, 2018.  For more details, visit
