Innodisk Demonstrating Cloud-Based Solutions to Industrial IoT Challenges at VMworld 2018

Innodisk Showcasing Intuitive Cloud-Based Management, Industrial-grade 3D NAND and PCIe Gen3 Storage, High-Performance Memory, and Rugged CANbus and PoE Expansion Modules at VMworld 2018

PR Newswire

FREMONT, Calif., Aug. 22, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Innodisk is coming to VMworld to display innovative solutions for embedded and industrial IoT applications. As edge computing is moving devices out into the field, both sophisticated components and management platforms are necessary.

InnoDisk Corporation.

With the cloud-based iCAP™, you can remotely monitor and manage every connected device through the cloud. iCAP makes it easy to predict the remaining lifespan of SSDs and other devices so that timely maintenance is possible. In this way, downtime is reduced to a minimum while maintenance can be handled in a smarter and more efficient manner.

PCIe Gen3 is finally moving into the industrial embedded market. With the demand for higher data transfer speeds, Innodisk is launching its M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen3×2 3ME2 MLC solid state drive (SSD); available in different heatsink-less form factors that all withstand temperatures ranging from ─40°C to 85°C, as well as speeds up to 3 times faster than the average SATA device. In addition, Innodisk is also launching its new of 3D NAND SSD series for industrial and embedded use. These SSDs pack even more data into every chip and bring high-capacity storage to the very edge of the IoT architecture.

To tackle the memory challenges of edge computing, Innodisk is displaying a wide variety of high-performance DDR4 RDIMM solutions in both conventional temp (0 to 85°C) and wide temp (-40 to 85°C). To further enhance ruggedness in face of the harsh environments often seen by these applications, all DDR4 modules come equipped with anti-sulfuration capabilities. In addition, conformal coating and side-fill technology are available to further strengthen module integrity.

Expanding already existing platforms can be both time-consuming and costly. For VMworld, Innodisk is displaying rugged CANbus and PoE expansion card series for the in-vehicle and surveillance markets respectively. These expansion cards come in several form factors with multiple installation options to simplify integration and ultimately avoiding costly redesign.
