American Family Care Named to the Inc. 5000 List for the Fifth Time

Health care leader again ranks as one of nation's fastest growing companies

PR Newswire

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Aug. 16, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- For the fifth time, American Family Care (AFC) has earned a spot on the prestigious Inc. 5000 list – an exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest growing private companies. This year, Birmingham-based AFC ranked #4,258 on the venerable list. With this year's ranking, AFC also enters the Inc. 5000 Hall of Fame, which is comprised of those companies that have appeared on the list five or more times.

At $534.5 million in annual system-wide revenue in 2017, AFC recorded a three-year growth rate of 79% – driven by the nation's need for high-quality, accessible health care. That performance also made AFC one of only 48 companies on the list to have greater than a half-billion in annual revenue. "We are delighted to once again be among the fastest growing companies in the U.S.," said D. Bruce Irwin, M.D., Founder and CEO of AFC. "I cannot understate the fact that our success is the direct result of the dedication our employees and franchisees have toward delivering compassionate, convenient health care to our patients around the corner and around the nation."

During the past 36 years, AFC has pioneered the concept of urgent care and expanded its footprint to become one of the nation's leading health care providers. Each clinic features a high-tech, high-touch approach, including digital x-rays, on-site lab testing, state of the art diagnostics, and electronic medical records. The clinics are staffed by well-trained, compassionate health care professionals, resulting in high rates of patient satisfaction. Most clinics are open daily from at least 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and no appointments are necessary.

In 1982, Inc. Magazine introduced the Inc. 500 list of the fastest-growing privately held companies in the United States. In 2007, the Inc. 500 list expanded to the Inc. 5000, giving readers a deeper, richer understanding of the entrepreneurial landscape and capturing a broader spectrum of success. The list represents one of the most important segments of the economy – America's independent entrepreneurs. Companies such as Yelp, Pandora, Timberland, Dell, Domino's Pizza, LinkedIn, Zillow, and many other prominent businesses gained early exposure as members of the Inc. 5000.
