PITTSBURGH, Aug. 6, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- "I do not feel that the needs of a kinesthetic learner are being met in school settings because of the way that desks are set up," said an inventor from Dover, N.J. "I also believe that materials can be incorporated into a desk to provide safety in the event of an active shooter. For me, a standing desk has been a huge game-changer, vastly improving my concentration and focus."

She developed the patent pending STAND AND STUDY to be usable for protection from gunfire in the event of an active-shooter situation. The desk provides storage space for books, supplies, food, etc. It includes readily available seating so that the student can switch back and forth between sitting and standing. The design helps to improve focus, concentration and attention. Furthermore, it is ideal for kinesthetic learners.

The original design was submitted to the Hackettstown office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
