PITTSBURGH, Aug. 6, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- It's probably safe to assume that anyone who camps in the great outdoors will never leave home without packing a camp lantern. An inventor from Adna, Wash., however, was concerned about the frequency with which his lantern caused someone to trip and fall and wanted find a way to prevent that from happening.

He developed a prototype for LANTERN HOLDER to provide an elevated height for hanging camp lanterns and keeping them level on uneven terrain. As such, it improves lighting and fire safety in the outdoors and eliminates the risk of knocking over the lantern. Thus is reduces the potential for both tripping injuries and fire damage. Therefore, it saves time, effort and the expense of replacing broken lanterns or spilled accelerant. In addition, it is convenient, effective, easy to use and affordably priced.

The inventor's personal experience inspired the idea. "I use propane lanterns for camping and have had problems with them tipping over and creating fire or tripping hazards, particularly for children," he said.

The original design was submitted to the Seattle office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
