PORTLAND, Maine, Aug. 6, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Googling "how to buy a house" is like researching your own potential medical condition: A recipe for panic.

So, if you're considering buying a home in Maine, and it's going to be your first home, you might consider getting much better support during the First-Time Home Buyer Seminar, hosted by Infinity Federal Credit Union (FCU), Maine's first credit union.

It's being held at Infinity FCU's Portland branch at 29 Baxter Boulevard on August 15, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. It's free but does require online registration by August 13.

An informal event, "It's an easy way to take that first step," says organizer and Infinity FCU's Mortgage Operations Manager, Shane Drake. "Talking with us, people are often surprised the loan qualifications and conditions are pretty flexible, at least with us."

Through Infinity FCU's First Step Mortgage, the credit union offers no-money-down loans to first-time home owners, with no restrictions like government programs, flexible payment, no pre-payment penalty, and free pre-qualification.

All of which will be explained at the August 15 first-time home buyers event, Drake says.

As Maine's first credit union, Infinity Federal Credit Union has been serving its members since 1921, initially as the Telephone Workers Credit Union of Maine, then as Telco of New England FCU. Infinity FCU is now community-based, available to anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Cumberland and York counties and the city of Bangor, Maine.

Infinity FCU is a not-for-profit cooperative organization owned by its members and guided by the vision "We do banking differently to keep *you* a step ahead in life." For more information about Infinity FCU, please visit
