Equitas Health Becomes One Of The First Companies To Offer A More Inclusive Trans Coverage Policy

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Aug. 1, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Effective today, Equitas Health has added expanded its health coverage for transgender and gender non-conforming employees.  The non-profit organization worked closely with its benefit manager (The SEBO Group) and insurance carrier (Medical Mutual of Ohio) to expand healthcare coverage to become one of the first companies to offer this type of inclusive coverage in Ohio, covering its 360 employees.

Other companies are also responding to the need and expanding coverage. Starbucks recently announced its own expansion of transgender employee health care benefits to include procedures previously deemed as cosmetic including breast augmentation and hair transplants.
