Scott Brown, Co-founder of Marbles Brain Workshop, Shares His Top Board Game Options for Families

NEW YORK (PRWEB) August 30, 2018

With the kids heading back to school, families are looking for new ways to spend time together. Preferably, without any screens involved! One way to get kids' brains back into gear after a long summer is brain-building games that require creative thinking and strategic play to win. Recently, Scott Brown, co-founder of Marbles Brain Workshop and Vice President at Spin Master, teamed with YourUpdateTV to share his top board games for back-to-school season.

Otrio is a two-to-four player strategy game. The rules are simple, but the game is complex. Depending on the wit of your opponent, you may need to sharpen your strategic skills and exercise critical thinking. Otrio is engaging, challenging and beautifully built. The stunning game board is made of solid wood, giving players an elegant playing experience. So not only is playing it fun, but it looks great on your coffee table.

But families are always on the go, and may not be able to transport the full-size version of the game, which is exactly why we now offer GOtrio. GOtrio gives you the same classic Otrio gameplay, but in a convenient to-go version.

Rock Me Archimedes is a great game that engages visual perception and decision-making skills. Not only is it addictive, but this game is great for mental acuity!

Stomple is a new game that builds in a bit of physical activity. Here, players take turns stomping marbles through the board using their Stomper piece. You can trap your opponent by leaving them with no marbles to stomp, and if you can't manage to stomp a marble on your turn, you're out. The last player left on the board wins. These types of interactive games require you to not only think about your own game pieces, but that of your competitor.

Pokie Dokie is a fast-paced game that will have players brushing up on their vocabulary. Meant for two players, this game is a race to spell words by pushing the corresponding letter dice through to the opponent's side of the board. You can use the wild orange dice to help you spell a word, but when both players can no longer spell a word, the game ends and the player with the fewest dice at the end wins.
