MILFORD, Pa. (PRWEB) August 30, 2018

The University of Wisconsin-Madison is hosting its 30th Annual Product Liability Conference this fall, which will include a presentation from the head of standards compliance at Clarion Safety Systems, a leading designer and manufacturer of safety signs and safety labels.

Registration is open for this product safety and liability-focused conference, to be held September 18 to 20, 2018 at the Pyle Center in Madison, Wisconsin. Over the three days, attendees will learn about product safety management best practices, product liability law and other leading-edge warnings issues. The information presented is geared towards industrial and commercial equipment manufacturers along with companies who insure them. Attendees typically include safety and design engineers, writers of warnings and safety literature, liability and product managers, in-house counsel and outside experts.

"The University of Wisconsin is known to be a leader in product safety and liability prevention programming, and I'm pleased to be part of this course to share the latest news and trends related to product safety warnings," says Angela Lambert, head of standards compliance at Clarion.

Lambert's presentation at the conference, titled "Warning and Instructions for Domestic and Global Markets," will take place on September 19 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.

"Failure to warn and inadequate warnings are a top concern for product liability allegations. In this session, I'll present on key considerations on creating effective warnings for both domestic and export markets. We'll cover the latest warnings technology as defined by the ANSI Z535.4 and ISO 3864-2 standards – including new safety label formats recently adopted by ISO – as well as international safety label requirements such as the Machinery Directive," says Lambert.

As part of her standards role at Clarion, Lambert is actively involved in the ANSI and ISO standards related to visual safety communication. Together with contributing to committee work, she acts as a liaison between these bodies and Clarion, bringing standards-informed expertise to clients to keep their warnings up-to-date. For nearly fifteen years, she has collaborated with Clarion's product manufacturing and facility safety customers – as well as industry partners and advocates – on safety label and sign systems.

In addition to designing and producing best practice labels and signs, Clarion specializes in guiding its clients through a streamlined process to implement visual safety communication systems in line with today's leading safety standards. The company is a member of the ANSI Z535 Committee for Safety Signs and Colors, the U.S. ANSI TAG to ISO/TC 145 and the U.S. ANSI TAG to ISO 45001.
