Phillip Gray Releases 'From Dreamtime to Armageddon'

New book blends fact and fiction to tell the adventures of William Buckley living with an aboriginal tribe

MELBOURNE, Australia (PRWEB) August 21, 2018

Published author Phillip Gray blends fact and fiction in his new book, "From Dreamtime to Armageddon" (published by Balboa Press AU). This first-hand narrative takes readers into the mind of William Buckley as he lives out his adventure following his sentencing to a life's imprisonment in a faraway land — a land that would become his new home.

Buckley was a 6 feet 8 inches tall British convict who escaped from the first British penal colony established in the southeastern part of the Australian continent in 1803. On the point of starvation several weeks later, a local aboriginal tribe rescued him. He would then go on and spend the next 33 years living with them, until settlers of the region discovered him in 1835.

This historical fiction chronicles a tale of survival against all odds. "It's a larger-than-life adventure story that actually happened," the author points out.

Moreover, Gray brings into focus how one society's advancement can come at the cost of another — in this case, the decline of the way of life for an ancient civilization due to the colonization policy of one of the world's superpowers.

"I would like to think that after finishing the book, readers will pause to reflect on how modern mankind's so-called advances, have come at great cost in so many respects."
