Additionally it offers more robust risk mitigation capabilities including the ability to deploy customized questionnaires, waivers and important shared content prior to high-risk or specialized travel scenarios, refined workflows based on each traveler's destination and role, as well as customized travel approval processes designed to align with and automate institutions' travel approval policies. These features enable institutions to confirm proper pre-trip information sharing and approval protocols based on traveler destinations, activities, roles (i.e., student, faculty, staff), and other critical risk factors.

The solution also includes Terra Dotta's AlertTraveler™ mobile app, which proactively alerts travelers when a local or regional emergency situation – such as a natural disaster, political situation or health epidemic – may affect them. The app automatically pulls in travelers' itinerary information and uses GPS technology to precisely determine which travelers may be impacted. Higher education institutions can utilize the app's push notifications, email and SMS text messaging capabilities to communicate directly with affected travelers, issue and track responses to check-in requests, and share safety instructions.
