Connecticut Based Wireless Zone Stores Create Toy Drive for the Connecticut Children's Medical Center

Verizon Authorized Retailers to Collect Toys to Support Local Children in Need

HARTFORD, Conn. (PRWEB) August 04, 2018

Wireless Zone®, an authorized Verizon Wireless Retailer, recently kicked off a statewide initiative to collect toys for the Connecticut Children's Medical Center toy drive. From August 5 to 25 during normal store hours, all 30 Wireless Zone Connecticut locations will serve as drop-off points for new, unwrapped toys and games suitable for children of all ages. The donations will be brought to the brand's corporate office the week of August 26th to be sorted by age group before being transported to the Medical Center for distribution to the children.

"Giving back to the community is part of the Wireless Zone culture," said Brian Murtari, Chief Information Officer and President of The Wireless Zone Foundation for Giving. "One of our employees saw that CCMC was looking for toy donations and within hours all thirty of our Connecticut-based stores were immediately on-board with helping. It's an awesome thing to see, and even better to know we can brighten a sick child's day in some small way."

The Connecticut Children's Medical Center is a national, nonprofit children's hospital known as the primary teaching hospital for the University of Connecticut pediatric students and consistently ranked in the annual U.S. News & World Report "Best Children's Hospitals." Throughout the year, the hospital accepts new toys for its young patients to give them a sense of comfort as they undergo treatment.

Wireless Zone values giving back to the communities it serves and consistently looks for new fundraisers to participate in to support local nonprofits and individuals in need throughout the year.

In July, the brand held its fifth annual School Rocks Backpack Giveaway by partnering with The Cellular Connection (TCC) and Culture of Good to collect backpacks filled with school supplies for children in need across the country. Wireless Zone also partners with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve annually for the Toys for Tots campaign to collect toys for less fortunate children during the holidays.

For the Connecticut Children's Medical Center toy drive, Wireless Zone asks donors to consider all age ranges, from infants to late teens. DVDs, activity books, board games, arts and craft projects, crayons or colored pencil sets are also appreciated.
