Taco Guild Promotes Sam Cavallaro To General Manager

Cavallaro's Management of the Award-Winning Restaurant Has Led the Business to Great Success

PHOENIX (PRWEB) August 02, 2018

Taco Guild, the Phoenix culinary darling nationally regarded as one of the best Mexican restaurants in the US, today announced the promotion of Sam Cavallaro to General Manager. Michael Stone, CEO of Cornbread Ventures LP, owners of Taco Guild, shared the news with Mr. Cavallaro citing his dedication, great vision, and tireless efforts on behalf of the business, its employees, and guests.

Dan Santos, Director of Operations for Cornbread Ventures, LC, echoed Mr. Stone's words; "It is always exciting to see a manager grow and be able to step up into a GM role. It is especially exciting to see Sam earn this promotion because he is truly the heart of Taco Guild."

As a grade school student, Cavallaro would often be seen running dishes, doing inventory, and helping in the kitchen at his aunt and uncle's restaurants. He arrived in Phoenix from Kansas City in 2008 dreaming of a career as a bartender. His passion for the industry led him to Z'Tejas where his business acumen, gregariousness, and love for great food and service earned him many responsibilities - from server, to bartender, to hourly manager.

Joining Taco Guild as Bar Manager in 2015, Cavallaro accepts the promotion to General Manager after having worked as Hospitality Manager since early this year. His passion for supporting local and community-driven initiatives has led to fruitful partnerships with beloved Arizona brands and business opportunities that position the restaurant for continued success.

"I love the dynamic nature of this business - there never really is a dull moment – it is what attracted me to this industry in the first place," shared Cavallaro. "I'm humbled and inspired by the trust that Taco Guild's leadership has placed in me and their support of my growth. I look forward to proving them right by continuing to work towards making our restaurant a travel destination and a place where the best in the industry want to work."

Cavallaro is also credited for his indefatigable commitment to shining a spotlight on the celebrated work of Chef Lujan and her team, as well as highlighting Taco Guild's brunch menu. This summer, Cooking Channel's Michael Symon featured Taco Guild in the Season 4 premiere of Burgers, Brews & ‘Que calling the Coffee Braised Beef Taco in the brunch, lunch, and dinner menu "a true masterpiece."

The restaurant's atmosphere, a mix of modern and traditional, still features original artwork, stained glass and wooden pews, the perfect setting for its "mash-up" of Old and New World Mexican food inspired by street food and fusion cuisine. Named by Travel +Leisure as one as one of the best tacos in America, and by Travel Channel as the second best Mexican restaurant in the US, Taco Guild is recognized as a culinary destination for travelers to Phoenix.
