Participate,
(formerly VIF International Education) a provider of leading-edge
technology, comprehensive K-12 global education programs and support
services for educators, announced today that it has been awarded the
International Society for Technology in Education's (ISTE) Seal of
Alignment for Proficiency.

"We are pleased to receive the ISTE's Seal of Alignment for Proficiency
for our professional development programs," said David B. Young, CEO of
Participate. "ISTE and Participate have a shared commitment to helping
educators create student-centered global learning environments, aided by
the use of meaningful technology, and guided by the standards set forth
by ISTE."

The ISTE Seal of Alignment confirms that Participate's global education
and cultural literacy programs promote critical technology skills,
support the use of technology in appropriate ways and contribute to the
pedagogically robust use of technology for teaching and learning.

ISTE Standards provide a framework for educators to strengthen their
classrooms for digital-age learning and inspire their students to
contribute to the digital world. To this end, Participate helps teachers
incorporate technology through a wide range of professional development
courses, the content of which reflects ISTE's Standards for Educators
and Students. In addition, collaboration is inherent in the application
of ISTE's Standards and in Participate's programs, as both organizations
host online communities where educators can connect, share best
practices and offer feedback.

"Participate's professional development courses and resources are
consistently impressive," said Mindy Frisbee, ISTE Director of
Alignment. "The courses are well designed and provide a valuable
opportunity for participants to engage in the learning process aligned
to the ISTE Standards."

The ISTE Seal of Alignment is based on the society's Standards for
Educators and is awarded after an extensive review conducted by a
trained team. It signifies that a resource, product or solution was
created according to ISTE standards and reflects a commitment to
consciously supporting best-practices for digital-age teaching and
learning.
