Kemper Names Jennifer Kopps-Wagner as Head of Legal for Life and Health Division


Kemper Corporation (NYSE:KMPR)
announced that Jennifer Kopps-Wagner has joined the company and will
lead the legal function for the Life and Health Division.

Kopps-Wagner will report to Tom Evans, Senior Vice President and General
Counsel, with dual reporting relationships to Mark Green, President of
the Life and Health Division, Mike Plazony, President of Kemper's Life
segment, and Charles Steele, President of Kemper's Health segment.

"Jennifer is a great addition to our company's leadership and the legal
team, and she brings a terrific breadth of experience and knowledge in
the insurance industry," said Evans. Added Mark Green: "Our Life and
Health group will benefit greatly from Jennifer's counsel on legal and
compliance matters as we pursue growth initiatives, and her operational
experience will enable her to contribute on many fronts."

Jennifer joins Kemper after having most recently served as Executive
Vice President & Chief Operating Officer for Assurant Health in
Milwaukee, where she had previously served as Senior Vice President &
General Counsel. Assurant Health had over $2 billion in revenue and
distributed product in 43 states. Prior to joining Assurant in 1999,
Jennifer was in private practice in Milwaukee. She has a JD degree from
the University of Wisconsin and a BA from Alverno College.
